could not update the new .o17 mirrors do not have the correct version.  the back up mirror did not fail but did not load either.

The updater should not be ready yet, unless you have official word from a dev saying otherwise. I have not seen myself. Therefore the only way to get the new client is to download it fully, not update from the last version.
