Title: There's 3 inches of ice outside, how will i get my freedom fries
Post by: Dumb Woob on February 26, 2003, 02:14:01 am
Haha, my school was canceled today, and will be canceled tomorrow cause of sleet that became ice.  MUAHAHAHAHA.  You people may have to go places in this kind of weather, but I\'m a Texan *jumps on a horse, shooting pistols into the sky, and yelling YEE-Haw!* and Texans are deathly scared of frozen precipitate.  So our whole state gets shut down (YEE-HAW!)

PS: I\'m craving some damn freedom fries!  And sorry fellow Texans for the heavy stereotyping.

I got out of work yesterday only to find that my car and every flat surface in the city was buried in ice (it was only dry and cloudy when I got there that morning) with 80F+ temps the day before).  My 20 minute commute turned into 2.5 hours (on account of the 50-60 wrecks Austin had that night).  I didn\'t even try to go to work today.  Most people in Austin get pretty stupid when it rains.  They are down-right brainless morons when it ices.

Man, I went to sleep and wake up to ice everywhere, it hurt my eyes...and now its  really boring because its not very possible to go much anywhere because stupid people in texas cannot drive on ice at all.

I made the best of my day, me and my friends went down hills on skateboards without the wheels, and on a kneeboard, and on an intertube, then we pulled the intertube and the kneeboard begind a jeep in my neighbor\'s circular driveway, and best of all we built a ramp so that the jeep pulled us over it, that was fun, but also hurt.

Our power went out yesterday when everything started freezing so We didn\'t have any heat for like 12 hours, and all the car doors and stuff are frozen shut, so stuck in the house freezing.

Muhuhahaha, I live in California, in the valley where all the normal people are. I think the last time the power went out for me was about 5 or 6 years ago.

omg its the same way where I live. Snow would have to be piled up half way onto buildings to cancel school. The roads were bumby and icy as hell this morning. There were about 10 reports on car crashes from slipping on the ice, yet we have to go to school. I share your pain on that one.

Lots of american ppl, i\"m from the center of the world, belgian to be exact, and it nearly never snows in here, and the one day its -5 and the other day its 12 degrees so this is a very.......weird climat

talking of climate changes... Eastern PA probably has the crappiest.  I remember one week in January last year, it was 20 (by our system)one day and snowed, then the next day it was 90.  It stayed that way for 3 days, then dropped to upper 30s.

I live in south Texas so it hasn\'t snowed since the Ice Age. I believe it snowed in Hawaii though last year. Go figure. Our winters go from midnight till 11:00 AM.
Most people here have dumb hulking trucks or SUVs so if it iced they\'d just be screeching out of control and just be a flippin pain.

Peace  8)

I heard the Belgiums actually made the French Frys.

Yesterday it was 83 degrees (farenheit) and today its 6.... its really starting to piss me off... all we get is slush, upon slush, upons slush, upon slush. I wrote a complaint and even signed a petition.... but they wont listen, i STILL get bad weather. God damn politicians...... stupid Mother Nature branch, i knew i shouldve voted republican....  ?(  what was i talking about again? get lost in off-topic land......never to be seen again......

I ain\'t seen snow in my entire life, I would love to go to the snow even once but instead all I get is to be stuck in a stupid drought you guys are lucky if you ask me.

As for the Freedom fries the french are proably happy that Macdonald\'s no longer calls it\'s fries french seeing Maccas serves a lovely wide vareity of edible plastics.

does anyone have normal weather?
Title:
Post by: Cyonamie on March 17, 2003, 05:49:57 am
I have a belly button.
Title:
Post by: FyreBlade on March 17, 2003, 06:15:54 am
lol, depends on what you define as \"normal.\" we have the BEST weather here in Southern California. the weather never drops below 50 degrees Fahrenheit all year (well, it hasn\'t yet) and, for snow, we can just head up to Big Bear whenever we want. also, we can hang out on the beach pretty much year round. :D hahahahaha, you all suck. only bad thing is, we never get school cut off. so much stupid sunshine isn\'t gonna get school closed. makes us sweat like pigs in the summer, but doesn\'t get school closed. \"and now, we bring you the morning report. due to excessive sunbeams, and bright driving conditions, schools will be closed until.....\"

I once went through a 60 degree drop in under 6 hours. From upper 90\'s to lower 40\'s.

What are freedom fries, anyway? I\'ve heard of french fires, curly fries, and waffle fries, but not freedom fires.

What are french fries? Anyone have some freedom toast?
Title:
Post by: Ravenmaster on March 21, 2003, 11:12:02 pm
ok, thanks for indirectly answering my question Cyo.  So are french fries just called freedom fries in Texas, or what?
Title:
Post by: Cyonamie on March 21, 2003, 11:18:15 pm
Some dumb law was passed to boycott the french, it renamed \"french fries\" to \"freedom fries\" \"freedom toast\" etc etc.
Title:
Post by: Ravenmaster on March 21, 2003, 11:27:02 pm
Are you serious, or is that just a joke?
Title:
Post by: Kada-El on March 22, 2003, 12:46:40 am
It\'s true I\'m afraid. Not actually a law I don\'t think Cyo, just some fool in the US that owns a restaurant decided his french fries would be renamed freedom fries, by way of protest to the french stance on the current conflict.

Hehe, that\'s really rediculous. I\'ve never heard about that before. It\'s actually pretty funny.
