Title: Starting the Game
Post by: Lucian on December 07, 2006, 07:23:54 pm
I've got a problem loading the actual game.  After i've created the character, i start loading the world.  Then the program just closes.  There is no error message, it just closes.

Please help me fix this problem.

I to am having a problem it is crashing my system when i am trying to stary the game.
I updated my video drivers, my video card is an NVEDIA GeForce FX5500 with 256 Meg vedio.
I am running Windows xp Pro and i have 1GiG of ram.
I also ran the updater to see if that was the problem that did not fix it.
I would appreciate any help in this problem.
Thanks Geza

Crashing your entire system, not just the PlaneShift client? Does this happen with any other intensive application you have been running? Just in case, check for overheating..

I don't know about Windows Client, but isn't there a log folder, into game folder??
(like C:\Program Files\Planeshift\log)
Are there some log files about errors?

Try updating the drivers (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp), in that case.

The newest was released on November 2, so I suppose anything close should work as well.. :) Thanks Elvi.

Geza, have you tried running PlaneShift with -console? Right-click on your PS shortcut and add that into the target line, with a space between it and what's already there.

Can you try uninstalling PS entirely (check to make sure no folders are left) and reinstalling with the latest version one more time?
