Whenever I try to open 'pssetup.exe' I get the error: "pssetup has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
When I checked it's properties, I discovered that the file is version 0.3.16.0, instead of 0.3.17.0 like everything else (I downloaded the 3.16 version installer and updated it to 3.17 with the updater)
How do I update my 'pssetup' file, or is there something else that's causing it to crash?
EDIT: Downloaded the 0.3.017 Client (with 7500+ seeders and a 300 KB/s download rate it only took about 10 minutes) and used it to re-install Planeshift. PSSetup works fine now (and is version 0.3.17.0 in the properties window). Still, I think you should include PSSetup updates in the updater. T'was a bit of a hassle to fix...

Running the updater doesn't fetch any more updates? The "quick and easy" (as opposed to waiting for a fix) way is to have the most recent installer on-hand. I wonder if anyone else was left with a previous pssetup version when they updated

*groan* No doubt that'll take ages to download and re-install. Unless...
Is pssetup a stand-alone file? Would it be possible to just send the version 0.3.17 application and .CFG file over hotmail? It'd certainly help...

Sorry to be pedantic here but the PlaneShift version numbers are expressed as x.x.xxx So in the first post of this thread they should be 0.3.016 and 0.3.017 respectively.
Makes for much more accurate and successful searching in places like Google. :)

::| Half the people on this forum can barely speak English, and you're worried about the slight misplacement of a dot? :P
Anyway, I just copied and pasted from the 'properties' window. I'm assuming if the developers weren't worried about getting it right there, they wouldn't care about some newbie's question.
But, I'll remember that for next time. Thanks Mr. Djinn... :D
