Known issue with the CrystalSpace engine and Planeshift, will be fixed in next release probably.
In the meanwhile you can try to fix it by making sure you have all your drivers up-to-date!
-
thanks, do you know if the next release date is set?

Try switching the "vertex buffer" to "on" in the PS-setup. Worked fine for me, no more "summon-missile-crashes" \\o//

hey, it worked thanks

You can read about this kind of issues here:
http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=26465.0
Here you usually find also the known workarounds if any. Just compare your error number when you are "kicked out from the system" (namely, your client crashed).
The problem as you can read is just related to the windows client and the majority of it happens with systems with Nvidia cards in it. The "issue" is a setting in CS that has been fixed.

I am kind of curious about something. From everything I have heard from different PC technicians and game forums, I think the problem isn't so much with Planeshift and Crystal Space as it is with the new Nvidia drivers being all screwy.
My system worked fine with version 0.3.017 of PS until I updated my Nvidia drivers to the newest version. Now bdroad looks like I am standing on the surface of the sun unless I switch to free rotate and zoom way out, until I turned on vertex buffer I was getting the summon missile crash, and certain graphical glitches make the sky look like I just ate three or four desert buttons. Oh yes and let's not forget all of the wonderful crashes related to particles with the Nvidia drivers that Aryhann has been working on.
Unfortunately I don't think Nvidia is going to change their drivers for us, so I guess we will have to adapt for them. I wish the Crystal Space team the best of luck in resolving these issues!

The problem that has been fixed in CS is this:
By res2k:
I've now completely disabled RECT textures for NV cards.
With such extension the non power of two is lost.

Darn, I forgot that setting VBO fixed the magic crash too for some :(
-
didn't the arrows crash some users with ati cards to?
don't think it was native to only nvidia

Just one person with Ati.
