Title: Black everything.
Post by: dashdingo on December 18, 2006, 11:09:39 pm
Hi.

I just started trying to play PS, and when I got into the game, this is what showed up:

I have a GeForce 6800 GT (256 mb), and my drivers are up to date etc, so I don't know what the problem is. When I try doing the "-relight" command in the shortcut target, the game ends up freezing at the load screen.

Any suggestions?

that almost looks like you have no acceleration on your card, maybe get the newest motherboard drivers, it almost look like your running in pci mode

Do you mind posting your driver information anyways?

Your graphics card model and driver version you can see by typing dxdiag into the Windows run command, and looking at the "Display" tab.

Nah, I can play Battlefield 2142, WoW, Half-Life 2, etc on high settings, so acceleration shouldn't be a problem

My drivers are up to date (just downloaded/installed latest version), DX dialogue says it's version 6.14

Where did you download those drivers from?  Whats the datestamp for those drivers? 6.14 seems awfully low.  http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1762

it may still be a mobo driver problem, ive heard others say they can play other games to but some just wont work, once i actually had to install the gfx port driver on my own and not via the installer tho this was for a agp mobo but still... maybe worth a look

If you do a "-relight" as I did you just have to wait like 2 hours so try again and go to bed. Probably when you wake up you can play again.
