http://edenflow.com/ I'm not creating it but I found the page and thought it was rather cool.
How many roleplaying games do you know of that take place almost entirely under the sea? That have fascinating new species never before seen in any other game? That focuses primarily on the struggle of a culture under threat, where every character plays his/her own role in the world to survive?

Looks interesting, although it seems like another of the 100s of ambitious MMORPGs that get ground into dust by the corporate super-addictive levelgrinders X-/

Hmmm. Interesting. All (ex-)planeshifters. :) (Don't know about Dancer but the others are)
I wish them good luck. Seems they still have a long way to go though.
Edited to add: Judging from the forums, the whole thing seems a bit dead...
-
It's not dead so much as... on hold. Still quite an interesting premise, whatever the naysayers say... (which, I guess, would be mostly "nay"...)

At which point do you think it will become off hold? I signed up and posted on the message board on the 2nd and still haven't gotten a reply.

Development hasn't entirely ceased, just slowed for the crazy season :)
Also, they look like a bunch of amateurs :sweatdrop:

Ahem.....
/me takes a bow, having coined said name for the project, but is not involved directly in it.
I even once swam with the fishes.
-
Did you walk with the animals, talk with the animals?
It is a pity this project is on 'hold'.
-
Finally some really unique!
And from the concept arts of battery powered "stun guns" used for fishing, I doubt it will follow the medieval scheme of many MMORPGs
I wish them good luck!

Sci-fi isn't that incredible for an MMORPG either...
Personally I always wanted to see a cool crime-based MMORPG, like an online version of GTA... with carjacking and gangland warfare and player-made hitman contracts...

MMORPGs* are commercial and children are a huge audience, making a MMORPG like that would probably look like an 18+ on paper and that means less money than before = no real reason to make it.
* I am well aware of a game called Planeshift so no sarcastic questions please, I am talking in general here.
-
It's too bad Moogie decided to leave Planeshift and use her talents elsewhere. It was a very spiteful act.
-
I don't think you understand the full picture.

they would have little kids on a GTA online game and they would go kill somoen or somthing and then they would get sued or somthing stupid liek that ;D

If that comment was directed towards me, I'll say that Moogie sent me quite a few private messages during her final days of involvement in the PS community describing her experiences leading up to her decision to leave.

Why did moogie leave anyways, i wasn't here then, and have no clue what happened?
Is it still contravericial, i'm guessing probably yes.

Aye, probably is.... But when has that ever stopped you asking a question mate ;)
-
People here will give you all sorts of answers, but the only way of getting the real story is just asking her. She posted her contact information here several times, and occasionally she might check her PMs - plus someone made her a leaving thread where she made a post.

Well i would gladly pm you karyuu :D, but sadly that doesn't seem to be working. ;D
It's o.k though, i wouldn't want to bring up old news and stir up contraversy, i read a thread already, when i searched moogies name.
I can see quite a similarity there karyuu ;) :whistling:

oohh ooooh I wanna spread rumors too!
Karyuu didn't want me to tell anyone but the reason I got "hired" as a mod is becuase she's leaving Planeshift to work on Blizzard's new MMO.** Starcraft Universe.**
That, and she's a ninja.** ....... and a pirate. ** ..... A pirate ninja.**
**In case you don't get it, that was all made up.
She's really tied to a computer in a windoless, doorless room, where she gets no food unless she makes PS art.***
***That was also not true.
:innocent:
-
Moogie's stated reason for leaving was, in a nutshell, that she felt the PS community had changed too much from how she used to know it. Karyuu is right in saying that there's more to it than that, and there's no good way of knowing, but I doubt that Moogie would tell the full story to anyone who casually asks her.

I bet any of the Devs would jump at the chance if offered :P
-
Just to note that the last 2 grades of Yliakum are completely submerged, namely level 7 and 8. A lot of underwater space for all your fishy adventures. Planned since long time!

Your right there isn't anyway of knowing, unless you were there and involved. Even then you may not now all the details. I also think it isn't anyones business really. Though people seem to keep bringing it up or mistaking that they have the right to know why moogie made the decisions she has. Gesh ... gossip ...... a nasty thing.
