Title: teh official merry christmas and happy new year thread
Post by: Peacer on December 23, 2006, 12:28:59 am
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone, I hope santa will visit yliakum and bring a whole new lot of presents also known as code.

Use this thread to make christmas wishes, new year continuation (if that is what it's called) and words you'd like to say to everyone up to the holidays.

*Annera ponders and asks "Hello there! Whoever you are to be so generous... I have no interest on what you can give me..." and then grins

*Ollam thinks "I wish to become even more intelligent and to have enough resources for my researches, and that people stop thinking that all Krans have problems with thinking" and then sighs as he knows for sure that no one will give him that

And HOHOHO! Merry Christmas (http://rarshow.com/extra/pics/2/santaissol.jpg) ! Happy Y2k7!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, excellent holidays and best wishes for everyone here (whether is it Christmas near you or not). You are a bright bunch of people, and I am happy to know you all. My wish for the new year is less divisions in the community, plenty of strengthening in the codebase, and lots of beer. Okay, the last one is a bit selfish, but totally sincere.

I love our tree - and the only thing I can think of is the tiring clean-up after it starts shedding :P

Many Chrismoose and a Hippo New Deer, folks!

Huh, I would've thought you of all people would have a plastic tree by now...

I never understood  why people were so worried about being tacky, they spend loads of money and time buying and cleaning up after a real tree, just to smother it with tacky decorations :P

Not that I'm accusing you of that... 'cause... um...
I'm gonna shut up now...

As for Christmas wishes...? I always wanted a nice big high-powered crossbow... with a laser sight. And maybe an attachable grenade-launcher. And some form of under-barrel-mounted solar-powered death-ray in case I run out of ammo...

That would be a beautiful Christmas...

Underachiever, I thought everyone wanted either to be a Jedi or to have a Death Star or both...

Psch, darling, I'm the metrosexual European, I think I know tacky when I see it :P
But that's not the problem. There problem is it isn't tacky enough. You should embrace the Christmas spirit and get a nice plastic tree... maybe with some fibre optics. Now that's tacky.

And while you're at it... cream and varnished wood? Are you living in the stone age!?

Hmm... being able to blow up dresses with your mind, or avoid speeding tickets would be pretty sweet... but I just can't say no to a Christmas Rampage of Death...

Tacky trees?  Tacky is buying a tree that comes with the deco already attached, just so you can one-up the people next door by having a better looking one.  Me, I had to go with the in-laws down to Wiley's Christmas Tree farm in Greenfield, CA and help them cut down and haul off a monterey pine.  Unfortunately, I barely know my in-laws so decorating the tree with them was a little awkward.  Fun though.  They served REAL egg nog.  Me likey rum.  Me likey rum a lot!

Oh well, in the words of Eddie Murphy, in one of my favorite holiday movies of all time...
Happy Christmas and Merry New Years!

Later!

Mean drunk, huh?

I usually just run around and sing. Specifically, songs I don't actually know the words to... A lot of the time, the words I make up sound better anyway though. At least to my sozzled ears... :P

Snow evidently causes a crapload of lag for some people.

Lol, that cracked me up for some reason. It just seemed delightfully downtrodden...

what unit of measure ment is used to measure a crapload?  and who exactly has to measure that?  and why?

hehe, No I;m usually a happy drunk nowerdays. I used to be an emo drunk for a while lol.
Now I  am very much loud and exited and mental.
I was thinking of the general standard of typing  whiilst being pissed lol. That would be mean.

*edit*

what unit of measure ment is used to measure a crapload?  and who exactly has to measure that?  and why?

When your fps drops to about 10 or below?
Or usually
Frame- pause - pause frame - pause pause pause pause - frame - Stop.

I dunno. But you know a crapload of lag when you meet it and it guts you.

what unit of measure ment is used to measure a crapload?  and who exactly has to measure that?  and why?

The containment area of the toilet bowl seems to be fairly uniform. Thus, taking 1 crapload as equal to 1 full bowl without toilet water, and the area of the bowl equal to say 500 ccs (cubic centimeters), then you can determine that while snow is in-game, players suffer 500 fps worth of lag.

Yes, bow down to my flawlessly logical algebra...
