Title: Sewer issue
Post by: Firedrake6001 on January 06, 2007, 09:38:11 pm
I am using a Mac

OS: Mac OS 10.4.8
1.25 GHz processor PowerPC G4
768 Mb DDR SDRAM

When I exit the sewers in Hydlla, meaning when I go up the stairs back to the surface I get this weird graphical issue. The graphics just get messed up (for lack of a better description) and I end up falling to my death somehow.

The  graphics kind of spin around and streak (?). If noone gets the description I'll post a screenshot.

I know what you mean - the images sort of build up and layer. It's a pretty common issue that has been around for a very long time, and one way of avoiding this when you're switching maps or sectors is to try to jump over the break instead of walk into it.

it is called the hom effect (hall of mirrors)... it is a side effect of all 3d engines. wiki will have more info on it.

Same with me, and I'm on a PC, running XP.

Yeah that has been around for ages, I tend to be able to avoid it by taking a different path when I exit the sewers.

Just make sure you walk up the stairs in a straight line until you are stopped by the rock. Then follow the rock to the left and you will be safe. Do not take a short cut from the top of the stairs to the opening in the wall near the tavern, since that will make you fall of the world.
