when i log on and start playing it laags so much, when i walk every step i take the screen pauses its so ennoying i need a solution plz.

Administrative tools is the top left icon you want "system" it's bottom right them look for the ram you have.

No don't choose administrative tools choose "system" which is on the same page after clicking control panel.

On the bottom right it should say what your RAM is in MB, state that.
Videocard matters also but i forget were to check maybe someone else could help?

Have you tried pinging the server ???

Internet connection is probably messed up.
Either that, or your hard drive is having problems.
Check your motherboard too.
It's best to try and isolate the problem, find out if it's hardware or software.

pinging the server never herd of it and i think this has something to do with it... when i pick character it says fragnetics: 0

k, let's take this step by step.
1) What type of internet do you have, and how do you connect to it?
Dsl? Cable? Dial-up?
2) Do you have a firewall, if so which one?
If you don't know what a firewall is, best bet is you don't have one.

Not sure if it's connection lag or game performance lag but try going into in-game options, then details, and setting adaptive camera distance. You can also try setting "Max FPS" slider down to 30 to make it more consistent. If that doesn't help, try going into PlaneShift Setup (from Start>All Programs>PlaneShift Cystal Blue), and check the box that says "Load All Maps". It should be ok with the amount of RAM you have.

I'm only at 1.5 mbps, I ping 240, 2 gig ram, 2.8 (dual core processor).
I've also seen you in game, i was the one who gave you money and took you to the arena (Restound).
I've seen you lag, but i thought it was your connection.... but bro, your connection is GREAT!
I have NO IDEA what soever it could be.
All i can guess, is you have a hardware problem.
By the way, do you have a 32 bit processor like me, or a 64 bit? I've heard 64 bits either can't play the game or lag like crazy when they do.

Please post your graphics card for us. In the Window's Run command, type dxdiag, and look at the Display tab. The important info is highlighted in the red box:

Also, if you have a firewall and/or router, you might have to enable port 7777.

Right, I wrote my reply before he mentioned his connection, it warned me about mutiple messages posted since my reply and if I wanted to review them, I said No, since it's a sound advice either way. ;)
By the way, D-Link he mentioned is a company name that makes NICs, routers, and similar stuff. And even if his connection is really 11mbps (mine is 10mbps), it could still be a problem if something is screwed up in Windows and if it's not optimized. Could also be that his ISP is having problems with a router in his area.
makevali, try going to www.speedguide.net, download TCPOptimizer program, set the slide to 11mbps (11000kbps) and click "Optimal Settings", then reboot your computer, and try playing online.

HOW IN THE WORLD, does anyone get 11, mbps.
The speed is amazing.... i'd love to have that, and would pay 40-50 bucks a month for it if it was available.
How does D-link work? I'm guessing it doesn't go through phone lines, or cable lines, maybe some sort of satallite system?
As for your Graphics card, your fine, PS isn't graphically challenging, i have a 256 Megabyte card too.
Unless your playing Oblivion or some other graphically challenging games, your good. For PS your perfect.

this is how dlink works we have alot of computers at my house so we only pay for one internet connection and we boght the dlink it gives internet to all the computers in the house including laptops

Makevali: That sounds more than just fine - you exceed the minimum requirements. I'm not sure what you mean by "firefox port," however. Might want to follow Witchking's suggestion as well.
Can you tell us what router model you have? D-Link is the manufacturer, but there's a model type/number somewhere on 'ere. Then you can find the product manual at dlink.com (http://www.dlink.com/) and look through it to find how to open/forward ports.

Unblocking ports has nothing to do with firefox. And finding your router model should be as easy as looking at it - it should be printed somewhere on the object ;]

That's not a router - that's an adapter to connect your computer to the router :] The router is one of these (http://www.dlink.com/products/category.asp?cid=2&sec=0).

6150 LE is a PCI-E video card and the 256MB it's showing is most likely a non-physical RAM but rather a system RAM. On the other hand, you do have 2Gigs of RAM. Not sure how well that would translate into PS performance, since I've never used such a card.
If he truly does have 11mbs, it's possible that his ISP offers it. My ISP, for example, offers many internet packages, including 250 kbps, 5 mbps, 10 mbps, and 25 mbps.
Karyuu, what are you doing using an analog connection with such a kick-butt video card and an LCD monitor? I know your specific monitor supports DVI but unfortunately only comes with a VGA (analog) cable. Try picking up a DVI cable, and everything should be sharper/cleaner. Nah, I'm not trying to do a "song and dance" about DVI. You may be perfectly satisfied with analog. It's only a suggestion. ;)

whats the point of downloading the manual why dont i just go to where i can change whats being blocked and see if the port 7776 is blocked or not if it is i'll unblock it.....

You have to know where you can change the port, right? This is router-model-specific. So on one router it may work one way, and on another you might have to do something different. The point of all this is for you to find out how it works for your specific router.

my brother came hes very good at computers hes the admin i'll tell him my game is lagging and tell him to log on admin and unblock ports and my game and i'll also install TCPOptimizer

I removed your other thread - it offered no new information on your end. We already know that your connection to Laanx is unstable, and I have already offered you suggestions on how you can fix it. You have to understand that the next step is up to you - it's all in your hands now. If you don't want to listen, the forums are going to be a dead-end for you now and forever.

Makevali... don't take this the wrong way... but you're an idiot. :P At least when it comes to computer stuff.
I'm absolutely serious here; you have no idea what you're talking about, so your best bet is to listen very carefully to what we're saying.
The "Fragnetics" you're referring to is a read-out of the "ping" (in other words, the strength of your connection) to the Fragnetics server. Since it's 0, it means you are not connected to the server.
Since you're posting on this forum, that means your internet is obviously functioning fine otherwise, so it's an issue that's specific to your computer's compatibility with this game.
Now here's the answer to what you were talking about: If you type your IP Address into the Firefox browser, you'll open the Modem configuration window. It'll ask for a username and password - unless it's been changed, the username is your Modem's model no. (which is 'WBR1310' for you) and the password is 'admin' (again, unless somebody changes it)
You can then fiddle with almost anything, including that 7777 port, but be very careful about it. Follow a guide or something.
I think that's what you were talking about, but I'm not so sure it'll help.

Some other points that might help (or help others solve this :)):
- the USB adapter mentioned is a wireless thingy. Are you sure the 11Mb is the speed of your internet connection, and not only for the wireless (for which 11Mb is a standard value). Still this may not help much, as a router connected to a phone line seems improbable, and anything faster should be enough. A wireless connection may also not be very stable, but you would notice that by being disconnected from Laanx often.
- Where are you in the game? My framerate drops drastically when I enter big regions (hydlaa plazaa, but especially Bronze doors, where my on board graphics card only manages 5 seconds a frame). This lag normally dissappears after a short while though, and should not be the case with a 256Mb NVidea card
- Are you running any other programs in the background? My virsusscanner became active (doing a scan) slowing the game down to 1 fps. Try disabling your virusscanner for a while (but be sure to enable it before you start doing other things such as downloading files or opening emails).
If any of these are relevant, my bet is on the last one.

Yeah, and the password and user name may not be that either.
In your address bar on firefox (or any browser) type 192.168.0.1
Your Username is admin and your default password is nothing, leave it blank.
On the page that opens you must click at the top of the page where it say 'Advanced'
This has opened a new page, on the menu on the left click 'Port Forwarding'
Now, this is where the manual gets a bit rubbish, from what I can tell you need to click the top check box, enter a name in the name box (maybe Planeshift), enter the fragnetics IP address in the IP address box, under the port column enter 7777 in the start box and 7777 in the end box just below it. Now on the dropdomn menu under the headin 'Traffic type' select UDP.
Choose save settings.
This probably wont work anyway because you already said you can get access so I wouldnt think this is even your problem :-/

i'm near harnquist and i go to the sewers and i think the numbers i got to put on mozzila firefox the website shows a dirffrent d link from the one i'm using and it doesnt show and also i cant find the 'Port Forwarding' on the side it just says:

Let me start over.
Your router has a certain model name. If it's not the one I gave a link to earlier, it's another - this you have to find. The model name of your router should be somewhere physically on your router. Once you know this name, search for it on the D-Link website. D-Link holds manuals for all the available routers, and these go into detail on how to work with them and how to adjust individual settings (ports included).
If you can't find the name of your router, please ask family members to help you out. I thought that you already explained the situation to your brother as well.

I feel like you're not paying attention at all to what I'm posting. There's only so much I can do before I give up and move onto something else - since I'm trying to help you, it would be a very good idea on your part to actually follow the instructions or suggestions I give out.
Are you going to find the model of your router and search for a manual?

Enter that into your browser (firefox) to access your router's setup. You might be prompted for a username and password - the default username is usually blank and the password is admin, but someone in your family might have changed it (and a good idea it is). If you're prompted for these and nothing you enters works, time to ask family for help. Otherwise, onwards to see what options your router has. My router's port settings are located on a page I have to click an "Advanced" link to access. I don't know how it works for your router, which is again why I keep telling you over and over that having the manual is a good idea.

If this wasn't a possible fix, I wouldn't be posting about it. The problem may be something else - something neither one of us has control over. Your connection to the server does after all travel quite an amount. But doing these steps may help.

If you mean the screenshot: you can either use the Print Screen button on your keyboard, paste the shot into a graphic editing program (like Photoshop) and save, or you can use another piece of software for the entire process, like SnagIt (http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.asp) (there are many free alternatives (http://www.newfreedownloads.com/find/screen-grab.html) around). Once you have the image saved on your computer, there are instructions on posting pictures on the forums here (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=20453.0).

something i just noticed is that when i quit the game this window pops up and says:

It doesn't.. :} That error happens for everyone every time they exit the game, but it doesn't affect anything at all - and it's fixed in the next release. You didn't answer my questions however, a habit I'd like you to avoid.
1) Did you find anything saying "port" or "forwarding" or similar within your router setup?
2) Did you manage to ask your brother for help, or is there anyone else in your household who may be able to do this for you?

That's not how this works :> I don't have access to your router - you have it there for protection as much as to connect multiple computers to one cable/DSL modem.
I'm out of suggestions. Someone else will have to come along and pick up from here.

Well, let me just say that I doubt its even your router. |I think you are having connection problems because of your wireless connection (im guessing that is what you are talking about when you say you have an 11Mb/s connection). I personally wont try to help you though, i entirly understand why Karyuu has given up, there are only a certain number of times that someone can try to help and not be listened to before they get to the end of their tether and stop caring.
You told us you had a certain router so I downloaded the manual and gave you step by step instructions, then you tell us 'oh, its not actually that router'. This is irritating and you have wasted peoples time by not trying to get the information they need. And the fact that you cant seem to see that there is a modify button on your posts so that you can edit them rather than double posting is just beyond belief.
