Title: where can i leave all my heavy stuff ?
Post by: Al Andalus on January 14, 2007, 07:05:04 pm
hi,

since i started to play i've been collecting things in my inventory (buying weapons, shield, armor, collecting apples, quest items, monsters loot, etc.).
it has reached the point where i cannot take anything else because i dont have more weight capacity.

so i wonder, if as it happens in other mmropg's, there is a place, like a depot, where you can safely keep all your stuff.

thank you.

Hi Al,
there is a bank ingame, run by players. According to their promotion thread, they also offer deposits (but you'll have to pay for it).

uhmmm....a bit expensive for me...i'm just killing rats, selling tails to get some decent clothes.

anyway, i just read the post about the bank and gave me the idea of creating another characters just to keep my stuff...until i run out of chars :(

i think it would be a good idea to create a place to keep your belongings, in some future game update. if now, that i've been playing for only one week, i dont have enough capacity for my things, how will i manage after some months ??

In a few months, after training a bit, you will be much stronger and able to carry much more. A place to put your belonging is being worked on. Looking at the CVS change history, you can see that they are working on chests with locks, and instancing. That would be something like everyone enters a room through the same door, but each would have their own instance, where they can leave belongings. No idea when these will be available, but my guess is it won't be years :)

if you are going to create another character to hold your stuff it would be better to create a new account so that you can trade directly between your characters and not drop things on the ground while relogging.

I  thought it was decided a while ago that multi-clienting to exploit the mechanics of the game was not allowed, am I wrong?

Maybe it would be good for you to make some trusted friends or join a guild so you can pass items from account to account.

It is my understanding that the use of alts as mules is highly highly highly discouraged.

To expand on that a bit - what's discouraged most of all is parking your mule by your regular character when you're either fighting or mining. Fighting especially, since it confuses people and makes them think that more than one player is hogging the spawn. Sometimes you just need some extra space, so it's understandable if you make a "storage" character. Just don't leave it hanging around while you're off doing other things.

another suggestion would be to NOT keep all that crap stuff.. i only used the bank since imhosting an event with alot of items. i use one char.. have no alts so yea :) 1 tria a lb a day.. is REALLY cheap.. b/w

The thing is if, You start a Int, Will & Char toon, you have to immediatly have to train up on endurance and strenght, so you can accualy hold more then the armor you wear and walk further then to the tavern and not need a breather. See trades arnt officialy effected by stats I do not believe, but this is untrue, there is no way a int etc toon can carry enough to be a miner, Metallurgy worker or a smith, but chars that have rougly the same intelligence as the ammount of fingers they have can train up in all of these jobs, as well as Alchemy, err... paintng apprasal? And all the other heavy brains jobs there are......

So if you want to roll a mage of some kind, be sure you start with strong strenght and endurance, and level up with swords and make money, instead of rolling 105 or so int like I did and breaking many, many keyboards.

Mumble mumble groan groan!

without my alt smithing would take ages... I doubt I'd even be able to smith a LS... and I have maxed out str.
