Title: installer won't run - get "Text file busy"
Post by: Brew1brew on January 18, 2007, 07:03:20 pm
when I try to run the installer I get Text file busy.   ???

here is what I type:

[root@localhost Download]# ./PlaneShift_CBV0.3.017.bin
bash: ./PlaneShift_CBV0.3.017.bin: Text file busy

Any suggestion would be apreciated.

Hey there,

Copy or move the file to another directory then try running it.

Are we supposed to install as root?  I never have, nor do I know why one would.  Not saying that's the problem, just asking the question...

It's up to you. To have some things like items in the menu you need to be root, as only root has permissions to alter that stuff. For a basic install though, no you don't.
