at planeshift's new website been written "2007 will be a great year for PlaneShift, because the engine is finally stable enough to add REAL good features and build on top of what we have created until today."
what do you mean by "REAL good features" ?
-
Stuff.
Okay, if you want to know what goes on in PS-dev world and you want to know what cool features the new release will bring read this (http://planeshift.cvs.sourceforge.net/planeshift/planeshift/docs/history.txt?&view=markup).
It won't get better than that.

It means everything before was just pretend :P
-
"REAL good features"
Not to be confused with "good features".
Sorta like the REAL Yellow Pages..
Easton
-
or even FAKE features.
where it looks like its a feature but it isn't

Like lock-picking :P
Hopefully REAL good features would involve putting in the rest of the player models.
I mean, castle-building or fast-travelling would be nice, but it seems like its kind of a moot point if nearly every single female character has red skin and horns :P

Dwarves have already their females :) If you want female, be dwarf
-
Don't forget enkidukai, they have females as well.
-
Yeah, but the majority of female characters you see running around are red. There aren't many female dwarves, and female enkis can hardly make up for it...
It's bloody sexist it is :P
-
As a male Dermorian I am looking forward to seeing a few female Dermorians in the game ;)
-
We should have Ents, their wifes left and aren't likely to return, so if in game, devs wouldn't have to worry about the females ;P

Well, they stole Khajiits (Enkidukais) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khajiit) and Argonians (Nolthir) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argonian) so why not go the full nine yards? :P
-
Hardly could have stolen something that didn't exist at PlaneShift's beginning (http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/7151/pleasedhc3.gif) (I think you mean Klyros, not Nolthrir.)

Oh. Hey, then maybe you could make a nice case against Bethesda. Get a bit of funding, get in the news, spread the word around, s'all good. In the meantime you'd take down the biggest offline RPG there is - create a nice void in the market to fill...
-
errr, are we talking about the same Ents? ;s

The tree-monsters from Lord of the Rings? Their slowness always bugged the crap outta me...
-
Heh. The team will add good new features. Part of the fun is finding out which... in game. But I wanted to take a minute and say that the new site looks really nice, Karyuu! Very professional.

There's a separate thread for sucking up to Karyuu, which can be found here (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=27242.30) ;D

emeraldfool, you are the only monster.

Not that I'm objecting or anything, I lovesses my kitties. So cute and cuddly..
Edit Edit, Not trying to imply anything either. Seemly making a point that the idea of having a cat like race has been around for quite a long time, probably as long as people have known cats. And over all this time, the concept has been used throughout many different novels, games, etc., because it appeals to people's interests. I wouldn't call it stealing ideas, simply appealing to people's interests, is all.

Tracy rocks!

If you ask me (and you didn't,) while we're getting off topic now, I would wager that the Khajiit are more likely based on the Katta from the Quest for Glory series. They feature very prominently in Quest For Glory III (released 1992) and then TES: Arena comes out in 1994.
Or it could be that people just like playing cats. I dunno. Does it mean we shouldn't be using enkidukai? No, clearly not.
Also, to call Nolthrir Argonians is a real stretch. Nolthrir are a race of elves, and Argonians are practically reptilian.
-
i think its basicly spell effects that are at least standard graphical
-
It's not sucking up if I mean what I say, and I am not trying to get anything. Make a site, emeraldfool, if it sucks I will tell you.
-
I'm so misunderstood... :P
