Ok, I've done everything i've read to try and fix this problem, but still, it says Frenetic - Failed under 'servers' on the login screen
I uninstalled PS (start>PS>uninstall), then deleted the PS folder (start>explore). Then reinstalled (ran PlaneShift_CBV0.3.018 that i downloaded, unchecked the 'run updater now' box)
Allowed port 7777 (Windows security>windows firewall>exceptions>add port)
I also checked the server's current time on the server website; correct.
Is there something else i can do, or something i did wrong?

can you ping the server? perhaps something else like an ISP issue is preventing you to establish connection.
-
any router?
-
I try pinging the server through the updater screen, but it takes a few seconds then says 'server not responding'.
No, i dont believe i have a router
-
Can you ping it through the Windows run command? Just type ping laanx.fragnetics.com and see if the connection times out.
-
I had this problem before i got the new problem i have now,
1/ use the uninstall game in the start menu,
2/ go into program files and delete the crystalblue planeshift folder,
3/ reinstall the game but do NOT run the updater just start the game as soon as you have installed it.
-
I used the Windows run command, and the C:\ command box appears, but nothing shows up, it just closes after a few seconds
-
It does close after a few seconds, but you should see something like this if the server can be reached:

Or it might show something like "connection times out." Are you absolutely sure that the DOS-window comes up empty?
-
ok i just ran the command prompt from the start menu, and i tried to ping it, but it says 'Ping request could not find host laanx.fragnetics.com'
-
You have either something blocking that address, either in a firewall setting or ISP issue. Or DNS sn't workign for you.
Trying pinging that Ip address you see there in Kary's screenshot she posted and see if you get better results.
(210.193.49.103)
Edit, or it could be possible that the time you tried to ping it, the server really was down for one reason or another.
Try running the ping again using a -t swittch on the end. That will tell it to ping until you tell it to stop, rather than just 4 times. Or, go to the server status page and make sure the report time for the server matches within seconds of the real time listed. If those two times differe, even by a minute, good chance he server is down.
-
I ran the ping again with the -t switch, just kep runing with the same result 'transmit failed, error code 65'. I checked the server time and its correct.
-
I had the server failed problem, too.
But i solved it for me.
Pinging the server worked.
The thing is that you NOT run the updater!
Just uninstall Planesift and reinstall.
Then DON'T update and run the game. That has been working for me.

'transmit failed, error code 65'
is specific to the zonelabs firewall set
your firewall is borked contact your tech support team.
