Title: Lack of Axe Crafting
Post by: shorty13 on February 26, 2007, 02:28:04 pm
I have been quite annoyed by this for some time.  There is sword crafting, even dagger crafting, but no axe crafting.  So I can't craft my prefered weapon type as well as many others.  I ask to implement this sometime soon if at all possible.

Oh wow, implement axe crafting.
Didn't see that coming  ::)
I know that this is a complaint department, but let's not go into the obvious.

How about there are still bugs in the crafting system they might want to work out before adding more things to craft [did you notice how little you can craft now? ] Just give it time and we will be able to craft more items and better items

I think the complaint department rules need an addition like in the wishlist rules, something like "don't complain for missing things that obviously will be implemented later" or a general "don't complain for things that are not implemented, we have the wishlist for that"  :detective:

This is slightly  :offtopic: but I was wondering what language PS is programmed in?

I did computer programming at university and have been thinking about looking into whether or not I can be of any help. It seems to me that the Devs are constantly swamped with a list of things to do.

Anyway if I could find out what the language is first that would be a start :)

Mostly C++ if I recall corectly.

Database is MySQL I think as well (assuming that would be one of your follow up questions)

I agree, a short thread with guidelines in it would be nice.

So far there have been
-Complaints about something not implemented yet.
-Complaints about the complaints forum.
-Complaints about people leaving.
-Bug report

I doubt this forum was meant for any of these :P

(I know there are other threads, just pointing out the bad ones)

Bingo.

This is what happens:
1) Begin working on a feature and stop additions to that feature to fix bugs - get people complaining about a lack of additions. (crafting)
2) Begin working on a feature and make additions regardless of bugs - get people complaining about useless additions. (magic)

Can't you guys chill out or something :)

And here was I thinking it was our job was to make your lives a living hell with complaints about new features and complaints about not enough new features.

I think I may have to re-evaluate what this community is here for ;o)
