Okay. Just wondering... Does this game have a plan for Kill stealing, one of the top 5 horrors of MMOs? I heard that the wilderness was going to be soooo expansive that you wouldnt need to worry (which is pretty cool if you ask me) But I could be wrong. Just wondering :sweatdrop:

Killstealing is generally defined as taking an NPC from a player who is already fighting it (at least in PlaneShift). Current game mechanics do not allow you to do this, and I don't believe this will change. If there is an instance where a player can steal an NPC from someone who already began an attack, it is a bug. Taking an NPC in front of a spawncamper is generally considered not nice, but it's not killstealing and in the future there will be plenty of things to keep you busy with, and hopefully a change in the spawn system (dynamic spawns!) :)

Well I also mean if you have to kill a "boss" NPC or a bunch of sall NPCs for a quest, what is being done to make the chance of finding everything in the wilderness dead when you get there, lower?

the critters respawn reasonably quickly. besides the big baddies will splash just about everybody that attack them so it isn't much of an issue

Ahh, I see. Now the other question that came to me about 10 seconds ago is: What if you want to take a friend, or a party of friends and kill a boss together? Do you just wait in line...or what? Maybe a popup:
Would you like to allow (Player) to attack this creature.
Accept
Decline
Because Hunting in packs is pretty fun, judgeing upon what Ive seen and experienced in other MMOs

I say it should just be made like WoW has it - if you're not in a party with someone, you can attack the monster they're attacking, just you won't get any exp.

There is a simple way to do just this: Invite your friends [add them to your Buddy List first] to Group with you. They will have their Name labels change colour from Green to a medium Blue, and you can communicate with them exclusively in the Group Tab of the Communication Window.
While in this Group you can all attack an NPC mob at once! :)
The experience, progression points, and loot get shared out amongst the members of the Group on a proportional basis according to who did the most damage to the NPC you attacked as a Group
Group makes hunting Ulbernauts and Big Tefusangs an aweful lot of fun and excitement! :)

Ahhhh! Okay, thanks alot :)

Unless, of course, you're a healer, or other support character that doesn't actually do that much damage but is possibly more important than the ones doing the majority of damage. ('Course that'll only ever apply when magic and other support skills are properly implemented...)

I have to say that personally, I wouldn't mind the ability to step in and help someone who looks like they maybe chewed off a bit more than they could bite.
Can't do anything about someone who dies in two hits, but if a fellow traveller has worked hard, and the remaining hp on both is pretty even, I wouldn't have a problem stepping in to save them the trip back from the Death Realm.
I know I would appreciate that courtesy occasionally as well. A little beneficial walk-by whack makes a brighter day for all.
Just a thought.

The concept of a "Boss" doesn't really exist in PS as it stands now. There are some monsters that are much harder than the rest of their species the super tefusang, here and there, a super rogue in a couple places, and there is a monster type that are all very tough, the ulbernauts but there is no singular bosses you have to kill.

So wait, so about the healer issue, if they don't attack at all what happens in that scenario? Will it be implemented to give them part of the group benefits if they magically contribute the creatures kill?
