Title: Magic user guide?

Can one of you write a magic user guide or a mini-guide for magic users?

Everything from creating a character to general progression. When I say creating a character, I mean whether they prefer to increase basic stats or magic skills or a combination of both, and not necessarily specific choices.

Normally, I would consider it to be best to find out on your own through the game. However, reading through various forum topics, it seems that way too many in-game bugs, especially related to magic, would prevent what would seem to be a logical progression for a magic user. So, I'd hate to waste my time for years just to find what is and what isn't worth training.

I know that magic system leaves a lot to be desired now and many spells are ineffective. So, that is the major reason I ask for a detailed experience by those who have already played as a magic user for a while.

For example, I'd like to avoid jobs like "Mining", if possible but it seems no magic related jobs like "Herbal" and "Alchemy" are implemented yet. I'd like to know what weapons primarily magic users prefer, aside from magic itself, if anything at all. Preferred jobs? Preferred money making ways?

PS Perhaps players like Roahn can say something. :P

More of a basic introduction to magic rather than a magic user guide. Doesn't answer most of my questions. :)

Also, 'magic user' is kind of a moot point, since magic is ultimately useless right now :P
