Title: griffen's 'Art'
Post by: Griffen Mernok on February 27, 2007, 08:42:23 pm
Ok, i've started using 'Blender' and making 3D models, i'm currently working on a monster model. This sword is my first ever model on 'blender' at isn't that great :-\ Hope you like what goodness you can see in it  :) (monster nearlly finished, i'll post a pic. of it with no colour) Edit: I'm posting the rest of my stuff in reply, so they arn't just on this post. (You'll have to scroll don to find them)

This is the monster half finished: it's yet to be named. It walks on it's arms with it's small feet held up. It has no legs, just a stump to attach the feet to the body. It's tusks are sharp and used for ripping meat. It's long arms are used as weapons when fighting, it stand on it's feet and clobbers the enemy with its big hands. it's ears are great at hearing and they are very aggressive. They can be found in woodland areas and grassy plains, they also like swimming in lakes.

Enjoy!

here's the circus moneky uncoloured, i'm still working on it, that's why the feet and joints are basic, the head was already on Blender but i modified it a bit.

the staff i'll put in some other views later

here's a drawing of a bigger build of Enki, he is a mage. I have no name for him yet. But feel free to take the idea for your character in PS.

Fun with blender!

The monster will never be used in PS, but you seem to have a good imagination, and with practice, who knows. Good luck with your 3D endeavours Griffen... and don't give up ^_^

yeah, at the moment. I'm going to be smoothing it and getting the joints fixed togeher, but it's early stages. I'll be adding some Animation to it once finished aswell, which you'll be able to see. As i say, it's my first ever models in Blender, so i'm still getting to know some of the different things you can do.

I've decided to stop working on the monster and am making things until i find a good one and decide to work on it more.

I'll have to look into that, Thanks. Your work is very good. Only thing i can see wrong with the sword is it looks abit glossy.

yeah, i've posted the monkey, the sword was difficult to find a right texture with, that's why it came out a bit 'glossy' i couldn't get the colours right and the txture was limited. Thanks for saying that, i'll be able to whatch out for it in future models.

Ok, i've found a way to make my models more life-like and here is a creature i made, it was a quik one to test the new modeling skill. It has no name for now.

here's one of the best models i've done, it hink it's pretty cool, and hopefully i'll be adding some animation to it. If it ever gos in game (which i highly doubt) it would be with Ulbernauts i think. The wierd ball is something i accidently added and couldn't get rid of, if you were wondering ;)

Very nice. Maybe you should look into doing more realistic textures? Also when creating creatures think about how they live, what they eat and what their habitat is. I can see the fist test one you did as some sort of swamp monster if you made the lump on his head into two big eyes, prehaps make it a dark green and have it walking on all fours? Just ideas  :D.
