Title: Need more monsters
Post by: lovechiefs on March 12, 2007, 05:51:11 am
Hello
Coming back to PlaneShift to give it another go.My first time around,I didn't have much time to discover and play. This time it is different.
First impression is that the game is well designed, complex.
One thing I think we need however is more monsters. I played for about 5-10 minutes before the server shut down tonight and each time I was fighting, another character came and finished the monster, which means no experience.

You might see some more NPCs around the wilderness... :) In terms of new NPCs: it takes a lot of effort to model, texture, rig, and animate a creature, and our team is very small and spread thin over many tasks of various priorities. We do the best we can.

I don't think people are so crowded everywhere that there are lines forming at NPCs. Also, another character shouldn't be able to attack an NPC you have already engaged in combat, unless you moved away and the combat ceased.

I'm just wondering what zany new creation they make, when they do put a new monster/ general living thing, into the game.

You never know it could just be  a small mammal or whatever  rather than a monster.

But judging by the Groffels and  other  planeshift original creatures, its going to be a fun sight :P

I know i would enjoy seeing some additional creatures out in the wilderness - running for 15 minutes i hear birds and animals but see nothing! :) but i do know the dev team is limited and is spread thin so i will just have to wait and see :) but i look forward to it though!
