Something strange has happend to me, somebody had something similar?
I have made a dagger, i have put it on tha ground, like other stuff, but the dagger was lost, all other stuff was there but that dagger was lost, this has happend to me twice, so...
... maybe it is a bug?
-
or maybe someone else picked it up :P
-
lol, One of the easiest bug fixes ever, Dont put something on the floor that you arent prepared to have stolen :o)
-
No there was nobody around i have checked, unless there is some spell that can make someone invisible.
-
Nope, no spell like that. did it happen at any particular place? Did you check your system window (chat box) to see if someone was, say, behind a wall or round the corner and used /target next item /pickup to take it without you seeing them?
-
Yes I checked all that, thats why I am writing it here, the only thing is that I can not give you any special detail about it, once it happend in Oja and once in Hya in a corner between buildings.
-
I think the rule here is simply don't put your items on the floor. And even if it was pickedup by someone else it doesn't always show in system chat even if your close to the item.
-
Yes, Gharan is right, you dont always see, if someone picked something up. Plus, you (yet) dont drop an item where you want to drop it, like via cursor. It drops more or less randomly on the ground, so its possible, that you dropped your dagger and other things within objects or behind them. I keep dropping ores and stuff at the furnace and most of the times i cannot see it, because its under it.
My suggestion, make a shortcut with "/target next item" and "/pickup". Saved me pretty often from being "robbed" ;)

Possibly. Did you drop anything besides the dagger? was there anything already on the ground?
I'd advise filling out a bugreport (http://www.hydlaa.com/bugtracker), try to be as descriptive as possible.
-
I advise against it. "I put something on the ground and then it got lost" doesn't help the devs one bit.

Yah, especially as there appears to be no connecting factors beyond who it happened to and what was lost. Unless it is a bug with crafted daggers but that would be odd with no one else reporting something similar (yet) and it not affecting other crafted weapon types.

More of a detailed description, of course. But, it may still be a bug and so should be reported. The simple fact that it happened in this version could prove useful later on.
-
May be a bug doesn't mean it needs to go into the BT immediately. Then people like Arianna spend hours trying to figure out more details on something that might have been a player mistake. There's really no detail you can give at this point that warrants a BT entry - if this happens several more times under testing, it'll deserve a spot.
-
The idea should be that it goes up and if it's not repeatable it's closed.
But then, that's with testers around.
Another point for making the "tester" rank ;)
-
Testers around? are there not normally around 100 testers in the game?
-
Testers as in people who test bugs, not just play the game.
Not that the latter is bad it's just most people don't participate in testing.
-
We are all testers first then players we are all to report major bugs to the bug tracker not just a few select that look for bugs to find them. If we all dont work to find and report bugs no bugs will get fixed. Again we are testers first then players. This game is in alpha [or some may say beta] it is being developed it has bugs we need to report them as a group not as a very small tiny group of 10 or less people [not including the devs].
-
I'm not saying we shouldn't, I'm just saying most don't.
Mainly because they don't know what's going on.
-
There already is a testing team.
-
I have put several objects on the ground, but only the dagger was "lost", all others were retrieved normaly.
I have not report a bug because I can not provide enough details, I have posted this here because if somebody else had a similar case, with self made things.
I have noticing something different also, that if i use magic spell(weaknes, frost), that "eats" the monsters HP, I can not loot the corpse, I must kill(last remaining HP) the monster with weapon or some direct spell(summon arrow,...)
-
That bug has been reported already :] Quite a long time ago, too.
-
It's not that Other people pick it up, when I dropped a merc helm in that ally you said, it disappeared :'( :@#\.
Like the glitch where you can drop a gold ore inside the mining rock in oja, exept it hides inside the building or something. I recomend you just dont drop things, and if you must, do it in an open area. ;)
You see, hwen I dropped to load of items in the area, only1 of them dissapeared too
-
Not disappeared, just placed in a spot your camera doesn't allow you to currently see without some tweaking.
To pick it back up,
/target item (or something like that, forget the exact command at this time)
and then follow that up with a /pickup
Some people even make a button that has these 2 commands in them to go around picking up litter and other goodies they some times find.
oh, and you may wish to change your forum name. spam bots will eat you alive with your current one.
