Title: What date is in-game right now?
Post by: Donari Tyndale on March 21, 2007, 09:20:14 pm
What date is in-game right now? Is there any place where one can see it?

There's no in-game calendar at the moment, and thus no answer to this question.. :)

I think that the explorers have a calendar on their site:

http://www.explorersguild.org/ (http://www.explorersguild.org/)

Currently it is:

Treman, 7th

No mention of the year though.

No calendar? Does that mean we should use the normal time for now?

I asked myself that question several times in the past .. it sucks not knowing an in-game date.

That system the Explorers use, is it based on the In-game clock or on actual RL days?

I would think that if it is based on anything in-game then it would be wrong every time the serverrestarted after having crashed.

How many PS days there are in RL day?
Basing on this, the callendar counts real time. It only flows faster and there are always 30 days in each of 10 months.
I can't think of any other way.

On RL days, more or less. 1 unodin corresponds with 1 januari and the last day of the Yliakum calender corresponds with 31 december. The other days are distributed between them, but not on a 1 on 1 scale, as the Yliakum calender has less than 365 days a year.

Editted to add:

If I recall correctly, an in game day corresponds with 4 in game hours. So six in game days in one RL day.

this is a quote from me, from another post ages ago:

  4 hours =  1 PS day
 24 hours =  6 PS days
 48 hours = 12 PS days
 96 hours = 24 PS days
120 hours = 30 PS days
128 hours = 32 PS days (1 PS month)
 5 days  8 hours  = 1 PS month
10 days 16 hours  = 2 PS months
16 days  0 hours  = 3 PS months
32 days  0 hours  = 6 PS months
53 days  8 hours  = 1 PS year
106 days 16 hours = 2 PS years
213 days 8 hours  = 4 PS years
320 days 0 hours  = 6 PS years
365 days 0 hours  = 6 PS years 8 months 14 days
------
and the current year is static at around 750 YA

Nope, not both at once. You have to decide. First theory or the second statement. statement because it is tactually the right one ;P
