Title: Installer does nothing
Post by: Ammiel on April 05, 2007, 03:05:11 am
Hi, I'm on 64-bit, I downloaded the installer, and I chmoded it, and running it does nothing normally, with text mode or even using --help.

Can anyone help me?

md5sums match btw

Well, are you using a 64 bit distro or just a 64 bit processor on a 32 bit OS? If you're using a 64 bit OS I imagine it won't work unless you compile it yourself for a 64 bit platform.

Sorry, but that's rubbish. :) We support 64-bit OS's perfectly.

I would take a guess and say that you're using the 64-bit version of suse 10.2, but you don't have the 32-bit emulation libs needed by the installer installed. Install those from YAST and remember to select '64-bit' during the installer options. I might try and ship a 64-bit installer for that version of PS soon.

Sorry :) I just didn't see a 64 bit download link so I figured you'd have to compile it yourself, I didn't realize the installer consisted of both. I should have checked before posting.

Aha! Actually I'm on Ubuntu 64-bit, package I needed to install was ia32-libs!

Thanks a lot!!

I was sick of running PS in my 32-bit chroot, because I'd get a bunch of graphics glitches
