Welcome everyone to the first arena smash pit. This event will take place this Sunday at 20:00GMT (06:00SGT, 13:00 PST)
This is sponsored by an underground guild who's name wishes to be undisclosed at this time due to the nature of the event.
This is an free-for-all pvp event that will be held in the arena PVP room. Registration will begin a half hour prior.
Currently the registration fee is 1500 tria the collected amount will be awarded to the winner at the end of the event (minus a 10% fee to pay guards ect in the event that over 6k is collected)
Details and questions will be answered in game at the time of the event. The proctors will arrive at approximately 1900GMT to answer any questions.
Rules:
Anything goes except the following:
No healing
No defense auras
Leaving the arena
Anyone found breaking the rules will be charged a 5k tria fee and will be disqualified.
This is the first Arena smash pit and there will be variations later (such as magic only)

No prize is mentioned, why would someone pay to enter with no prize?

The prize is the collected tria... 5 ppl = 7.5k

Why when running a tournament do people insist on stopping players from using certain spells? It seems like you are penalising those who have spent time training magic abilities.

I think it's great that you're trying to put something like this together but maybe checking out some prior tournament threads can give you an idea of what Narure means by "prizes". Participants have high expectations unless you're thinking of a small event that can be done regularly (like a fight club or something). ;)

This is a fight club hence the "I" this is the first in at least 5 also the only spells you are not allowed to use are
No healing
No defense auras
anything else is ok

I have a question... If you find someone breaking the rules, how do you plan to fine them? And also, I think that magic should definitely be allowed... Or is it meant for melee characters only (and if so I suggest you RP it)?

only offensive spells is i think what the gist is.

you can use ANY magic except defense auras also you can mele or w/e you want. As far as fining they must pay before they allowed into any event sponsored by the guild. That includes everything by the guild as well as any affiliated guild. (That makes for a lot FYI)
