I was playing today and wanted to help a friend with his guild war... however only way todo that was for me to leave my guild. I did a seacrch and found lotta stuff on an alliance chat but nothing on a guild war. What is an alliance for if not to help allies in a war?

There is still a lot that needs tweaking when it comes to alliances :beta: but methinks this is a very obvious suggestion.

Well, I know this thread is nearly two months old, but I didn't notice it before :P
However, I must say that I have to agree with Cyber to a certain degree. Alliances are somewhat unuseful, and I can see that it isn't intended to be the way it currently is. But let's say guild A challenges guild B to war, then guild C, who is allied with guild A, shouldn't automatically be in war with guild B. Guild B should get the option to enter the war via confirm window. However, I wished, there would be some sort of personnal alliance, that allows you to enter a war without pulling your whole guild into it. One way of doing this, would be grouping up with a member of the guild you would like to aid, and thus, be part of the war without the need to challenge to duel, and also without the need to temporarily leave your guild, which is pretty much uncomfortable. Another way would be an additional alliance option, linked to your character. This might be hard to code though, I don't know much about these things. :innocent:
Anyway, just my opinion. :flowers:

hmm besides hard to code it would seem rather strange to me to have someone join a guildwar by joining a group. Sounds like something way to easy to abuse by leaving the group when outnumbered or something. Not that death is really to be feared in the game right now but still ;)
The option for alliancemembers to help eachother in guildwars is definately something that should be implemented, but hardly something new.

I would refrain from accepting armed conflict right now due to the limitations and flaws of the existing combat system, thus I think such action should be implemented on the long term.

*smiles* that sounds rather strange.
Even if you feel the combatsystem isn't as it should be and therefor not using it yourself, that is hardly a reason to say anything related to it shouldn't be developed. Infact the guildsystem atm and guildwars in a form there of is in my eye one of the most underdeveloped parts of the game that actually is ingame.
I mean guilds are ingame, but besides the guildchat it doesn't really do anything. Guildwars is the only thing implemented so it's not that strange people are focusing first on improving that.
