Hi~ i am no sure is this a right place to ask this question.. sorry
i follow the guild - Testing a Map in PlaneShift in http://vaalnor.mine.nu/psdoc/?q=node/21 (http://vaalnor.mine.nu/psdoc/?q=node/21)
i can create a simple box(map) by Blender, and use the command c:\> walktest --relight c:\maps\box.zip to open that box in CrystalSpace.
I modify the zoneinfo.xml, start the server and load the map -> start client -> /admin -> /teleport me map box
that have 2 possibility.
A.1)The light is gone. everything become black. And i go back to npcroom by using teleport, the npcroom also become all black. Therefore i go to cmd and use the commend psclient --relight to start it, but the problem is still there.
A.2)The client is stopped during the loading map, and a cup of minutes later client is closed
other question:
B.1)In windows xp, i am able to load other map(that is already in art like: akkaio). However if i use loadmap to load ohter map more there 3 to 4 except npcroom in server, i use teleport in client to go to any map except npcroom the client may is stoped(A.2)
B.2)In mac, the client will stop duing the loading map, if i use teleport me map except npcroom1, npcroom2, npcroom_corr

Hi there. I suggest you join IRC on irc.freenode.net, channel #planeshift-build and ask Induane himself or Rolenun or... anyone who can help :). (You can try to connect using IceChat for Windows, Konversation in Linux or simply www.ircatwork.com) You'll find many experienced builders in there.
By the way, from your story this seems to be with the self-compiled Planeshift project, rather than something with your map. Have you tried starting PS with the command psclient -relight ? That should force your client to recalculate the light on each map load, provided you actually put some in the first place ;).
Also, you should use some of the files from the official release after compiling your own version, like zoneinfo.xml and others in the data folder. Use this advice wisely though and always make backups before experimenting.
Anyway, I think it's best that you speak to someone "live" on IRC to help you out.
PS: Impressive that you have the project on Windows and Mac!!!

I managed to contact him via email I think and we got it rolling. I'll update the guide soon as I have some time to reflect what needed to be done. Basically its a matter or making sure that you do not clear the screen .. or is it the zbuffer?... this is set in the world file (an the b2cs gui) so its a simple fix.

Ah, I see. I was nowhere close :P Thanks Induane!
