Did an uninstall of previous version,
Did install.
Did psclient (nothing happened)
Did pssetup (nothing happened)
Went to command line, cd's so planeshift's directory.
Ran psclient (immediate exit back to command line)
ran pssetup (immediate exit back to command line).
Previously (before uninstalling) I had run updater which showed up, checked mirrors and found nothing.
I've got a fairly high end system with an nvidia card, and plenty of memory running XP.
What could be the problem?
-
what messages are appearing on the command line?
-
Nothing. Just a return to the command line.
-
Did you try launching it with --console and/or --verbose?
-
console brings up a black box (console box?) for about a quarter of a second, and then the box is gone. Otherwise it's the same. Verbose shows nothing.
*edit*
BTW, I tried out Crystal Core yesterday and it worked flawlessly.

1)Don't triple(!)post, use the modify button.
2)It's not a bug, it's on your end.

Wow, that's a crash I've never seen before.
You may try these things:
-Change settings around in Planeshift Setup
-Update your graphics drivers
-Reinstall Planeshift
-Mail the dump file to a developer as explained here (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=27639.0)

Wow, that's a crash I've never seen before.
In the present days, computers are still too dumb to understand that Int x / 0 -> infinite
Thus it's something that happens sometimes, specially in alpha-stage projects.
I would recommend the @ThomPhoenix suggestion of reinstalling the game. It usually solves lots of things. Also don't forget to check the MD5 sum of the installer to be sure it was downloaded correctly.

I wasn't talking about the divide by zero, I've seen a lot of those. I was talking about the crash address, it's new.
