Hello, I'm new to Planeshift, so... I'm in serious need of help,lol...
System Specs:
- Windows XP
- 512 MB RAM
- Intel Pentium 4 1.60 GHz
and so on... Standard system specs...
Well, I downloaded the client directly from the Planeshift download page using the first mirror on the list. I installed and updated. Then I read the site and it said not to update... Ok, lol, I uninstalled it, rebooted, and installed it again. I opened the client and in the top left corner it says that I have client version 3.0.17 (I think...).Well, I notice that everyone is talking about having to have 3.0.18, so I wonder why mines only says .17. I downloaded it last night, so it can't be that I have an old installation... So, I try to login and I repeatedly get a server failure. I pinged the server and it's online. I checked the site and there was 162 players online... I turned off my firewall and tried, didn't work. I tried making allowances with my firewall on, still didn't work... The question is, "What now?" I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks,
ChrisNorcras

did you remove all left behind folders and files before reinstalling? unless it says 3.18, it isn't ever going to connect.
-
double check the most current file will have 3.18 tagged in it.
one of the mirrors i still hosting 3.17 regardless of what it says.
but you will have to redownload though. you are running 3.17
-
Has the mirror that is hosting 3.17 been identified yet? obviously it might be a good idea to remove it, or at least disable the link.
-
Nothing yet, Laragorn. If someone could please try to figure it out... My resources are limited at the moment.
-
Ok, I figured it out.... One of the download links led to .17 instead of .18... I simply downloaded from a different mirror and it works fine now. Thanks for the help... See you in-game...
