Title: Graphics issues with "fglrx" drivers.
Post by: CalcProgrammer1 on May 15, 2007, 11:05:13 pm
I have an ATi Radeon X1600Pro AGP 512MB card in my computer (AMD AthlonXP 2600+, 1.5GB RAM).  I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) with the proprietary "fglrx" drivers (the "ati" one and "radeon" one doesn't work on X1000 series).  The game plays, but there is a glitch with either the game or the drivers that makes crates, carts, and many other map object models appear transparent, and often shows the skybox through them.

Ok, it's not just Linux.  The server just crashed and when I came back (in Windows) it did this again.

Well ATI linux drivers are known to not work well... As long as ATI port them to Linux ( well it's my opinion!!) I would suggest you to buy a Nvidia chip video card based... orther wise you may have peculiar bugs in many games with ATI card/driver.

So there's really no workaround?

Too bad. :(

They just released open source drivers for the r500 series like your card is.  You could take a go at compiling them.
