Title: Question on server status
Post by: Telakh on May 22, 2007, 09:24:31 am
Hello. I have installed 0.3.0.18 vercion and I can't connect to the game because it keeps saying "failed" on fragnetics server. Hydlaa.com says it is down too while laanx.fragnetics.com says that it is up. That do I have to do?  I am not using the firewall.   Thank you

Perhaps it was a server hiccup? Hydlaa.com shows the server up again :) Are you able to login now?

Still unable to connect... The game client shows that the server is down. I can ping laanx.fragnetics.com though.

are you networked or are you straight into your modem?
and just to double check what version does it say up in the top left when you start the client.

It is a dynamic IP network. I have downloaded 0.3.0.18 two days ago. I used to play planeshift long ago at it's very beginning but there were no such problems.

check to see if port 7777 is blocked by your it team.
and make sure that i says 3.18 in the top left of the client.

as far as i know there is no easy way to check if a port is being blocked.... well i know of a few but they don't give anything useful in this case.
who setup your network?
1. if it is uni/corp check with them
2. if you set it up check with your router manufacturer

now if the port isn't being blocked, and you set up the router. you may have to set up a port forward. you'll want to forward 7777 to your comp. again the maker of your router will be able to help on this.

if it is a corp/uni network, things maybe more... interesting for you.

Hey Telakh, welcome back! I remember you, you were one of the people of the explorers guild who showed me around on my first days of playing PS and made me decide to join them. We're still around by the way.

Hope you manage to set the connection back up.

The server is down at the moment for an update, nvrbncmp. You may be better off downloading the new client when it comes out.
