Title: Raising Stats

I've been thinking about the number of pp needed to raise a statistical category from its beginning to its maxium. Take, for instance, strength. If it takes 20pp to raise each level of strength (to go from level 1 to level 2 to level 3, and so on), then it would take a total of 4,000 pp to go from level 1 to level 200.

An assumption I'm making is each level takes a level amount of pp: 20.

Is this a valid assumption?

If my assumption is wrong, does anyone know what the correct figure is?
How did you arrive at that figure?

Are all statistical categories equal (i.e. strength, will and agility all level at 20)?

I wonder what is your point.

People should really stop caring how much on which rank they need. Thats just silly, isn't it enough that you get better by training?

I've learned my assumption is faulty. The number of points changes as you progress through the levels. I'm still interested in the way it changes and the total number of points needed to go from 0 to 200, though.

It's not my concern what you think people should or should not care about. It's also not my concern if you think its silly. My concerns  and my curiosities are my own. Quite simply, I'm concerned about efficiency and this is something I anticipate being useful.

Heh... Personally, sorry, I do not know the answer to your first question. It SEEMS like the number grows as you level up, as the blue bar (pp) is different than the rest of the stats'. Also, I know for a fact that that all of the categories are not equal. Look at the yellow bar and the red void in the stat bar. The yellow stands for how many pps you need for training, and the red void is how much practice (actually using it) you need. The green bar is your progression so far.

If i figured that right you can estimate if you have enough PPs to learn for a skill with that blue bar, if it is longer than the yellow bar you can learn that skill or raise that stat. That won't give you the info if you have enough PPs to raise your stat for 10 levels but for a quick check if you can complete the learning or statraising for one learning it works.

Can anyone tell me please, if there is any purpose for the WILL stat? Is it useful for combat?

Some weapons that are dropped as loot from some NPCs require a minimum level of WIL before you can equip them

Thanks. I found that this was also the case for the CHAR stat, when I looted a Spidersweb sword, but couldn't equip it for use.

Wil Int and Chr all affect your mana level. They also may someday affect the levels of the various magic ways you can achieve.

Will is useful for fighting prolonged battles with weapons.

It takes a bunch of PP and tria to max out in anything, still not enough if you ask me though, looking at all the maxed out characters around. Especially stats are easy to max out since you don't require any practical training.

People should be more concerned about developing their character in a roleplaying fashion than maxing out it's stats and skills.

And lets not forget that, sooner or later, The Wipe Is Coming, and then, all your sweat on the level treadmill or powermining will be for nothing.

*coughs* To answer the original question:

For the base stats (int, will, strength, etc), it works in bands of ten. Take whatever band of ten you're in (eg, 120-129, I'd consider the 12th lot of ten) and add 10 to that, and you need that many PPs to train a level in that stat.

Examples! (Can you teach I tutor mathematics? :D)

Strength 120: 12+10=22PPs to train a level.
Will 87: 8+10=18PPs to train a level.
Endurance 199: 19+10=29PPs to train a level.

So supposing you were daft as a brick, intelligence 0 (or ugly as a brick, charisma 0) to train all the way up to 200 would cost 10*(10+11+12+...+28+29)=3900PPs.


I've been trying to work out the mathematical formula behind the other skills. It looked linear for a while, but there seems to be a power-factor involved somewhere. Work is continuing ^_^
