I am using 0.3.018 version of Planeshift on my MacBook, and everything works well except for sound. When I start Planeshift, the following appears on my console:
Ported to MacOS/X by Eric Sunshine <sunshine@sunshineco.com>
DEBUG: Sound System Software Renderer Initializing...
DEBUG: Sound System: CoreAudio driver for software sound renderer initialized.
ALERT: crystalspace.sndsys.driver.software.coreaudio: Failed to set buffersize to 35280 bytes for CoreAudio output device. Return of 1852797029.
Does anyone know what is going on?

I don't know either. But as I read Your posting, it came to my mind that I never heard any sound while playing PlaneShift so far. (Specs posted on page 7)

Greetings to both of you!
I am running the game on a MacBookPro as listed on page 7 of the system specs thread and the in-game sound seems to be working for me. I hear music that changes during battle scenes and such. Do both of your systems use the Intel High Definition Audio? If not, do you know what they are using for sound?
Have a great day!

I really cannot tell, but I did not change anything about the sound.
Can You tell me how I can find out if I have high definition sound? I tried "About this Mac > More info...", but that dialog does not give any interesting information on the sound.

There is a bug-report related to this on the CS bug-tracker: http://trac.crystalspace3d.org/trac/CS/ticket/205

You may want to try adding the following line to psclient.cfg (suggested by Induane):
SndSys.Driver.coreaudio.SoundBufferms = 150
If that doesn't work, well, see Trymm's post. It's a known bug. iLock.
