Title: First Person fight
Post by: Minoe on June 10, 2007, 05:59:31 pm
I don't know what you call "a sight to see", but i really don't like the view when fighting an Ulbernaut in "First Person".
My suggestion, you can also call it wish, is to be able to fight bigger creatures from a bit more far away.

If you do not like the look of ulber-belly you can "page-up" and look at its chin or "page-down" to look at its feet unless of course your head is already inside the beast.

Is it unrealistic though?

Indeed, whether you like it or not, that is what you would see from a first person view.

I prefer to not see that view by taking the Ulbernaut from a distance using a ranged weapon. But in this case, you can always switch to third person view. In fact I think melee always seem clumsy with first person view. There is a reson why most FPSes don't have swords and melee weapons as the majority of their arsenal. However improving the camera controls(I mean, they are a bit clumsy, just improve the sensibility to input) and perhaps giving more options on it might be a good idea. Also a shortcut for a third person far away view and for a topside view are things that would be interesting.

I'm slightly confuzzled, so are you saying that you should be standing there, swiping at air, but still harming the Ulbernaut 5 meters away?
