well that is why you need a real graphics card or you will have to live with what you see now.

I get lighting issues like that from time to time, in the DR, the passage between the plaza and East LA ...Hydlaa that is, usually a reboot fixes the problem. I don't have a "real video card" either but at least it is an Nvidia chip.

Just go to intels website and update your driver and see if that helps. But as mentioned you really should get a graphics card.

it's funny but i've started to get black textures to in the game even if i have a real gfx card... and newest drivers... could be something with them to, still they are the best drivers i've had in awhile
geforce 7800gs agp with 94.24 whql drivers
usuly a relog helps there it's just weird it happens at all

i'd suggest trying to most resent intel graphics drivers, not really sure it helps but it's still worth a try, the thing with intel onboard cards seem to vary, for some a driver update works others not

i found that if you get their psclientcmd file it know you can find it under how to run planet scape on mac os x forum and follow the instructions to enable -fullbright everything should work...i had the exact same problem and when i did this it fixed it for me.

I have an ATI x1300 mobility and only in BD area I get the following plus a huge amount of lag:

I am running openSUSE 10.2.  I mostly ran -fullbright in the past.  I will try returning to fullbright mode and see if that helps.  I'm posting because I'm having the problem and I have an OK graphics card with current drivers.

first you need to relight the map ./psclient -relight will take several hours. one problem might be that you have a graphics card that shares memory with your ram [have you tried in windoze at all?]

So, I tried with -fullbright and it is beautiful as ever.  maybe I'll relight tonight and see if that fixes things.

Thanks for the advice.

UPDATE
***************

The -relight did infact "fix" the black areas.  It is still very lagged however.  So I guess the two issues (black areas and lag) were coincidence and not related.

Fullbright on the other hand fixes it all.  Thank Dev for fullbright!

I fired up today to find Everything black other than my character, I droped out of the game to windows closed the game and the restarted to find the problam had gone. the weird thing is I was not where I had been when I logged out last ie at the library rather at the spawn point in hydlaa you start at after the DR.

Sorry not sure if this is the right thread it just seemed like it could come under the same issue.

BTW FX5600 X 256 meg nvidia AGP card with the latest drivers and p4 3.0 with 1 gig of 3200ddr ram on XP pro  old but still does the job,  Also this is the first issue I have had like this.
