Lords, Ladies and Citizens of Hydlaa, Her Royal Highness of Printh is holding a Formal Dance and Buffet at the Pagoda in Hydlaa Plaza. The Event requires formal dress, Ladies must be presented in Ball Gowns or similar, and Gents in formal officer's uniform, or smart suits. It is asked that you leave your weapons in the care of the appointed Guard for the event [RP ONLY] of which Lord Quantus has been appointed. There will be aband playing for the entertainment of the guests, and ladies will be expected to carry a Dance Card [RP Note - dance card is a sort of booking card for others to book a dance with the lady, normally ladies will have a partner or 'courtier' who attends the card to ensure that no unsavory chaps get to dance with her.]
[please make this a fun event, The band and food may have to be Role Played - unless someone is willing to help out with being the musicians?]
This event will take place in the Pinneth of the Crystal. [Saturday evening 7 July 07 GMT time]

My IP address is dynamic, however, so I will post the current address at the beginning of the ball. If the music conks out during the ball, please send a /tell in-game and I will update the address here in this post so that people may continue listening to dancy Medieval/ Renaissance music!
I suggest saving the "Play All" link at the top of the page as "recurse.m3u" and then tossing that into your favorite mp3/ogg/flac player, from there you can shuffle or sort the files as you like.

Mrriyah, I have sampled some of the music for the event, and it is a wonderful selection. Thank you for your efforts. Hopefully, more of this type music will appear in future versions.

what was the thought... ah yes. you may want to get a dynamic dns for the event... dyndns.org which does mine seems pretty good. it will keep the music flowing simply.

Thank you Steuben. I did try it out for a few days and the IP address didn't change as long as the computer was still up, so I think it wil be ok for the event without worrying about dyndns and firewalls and other tricky things for a server that I may not use again any time soon.

When we write "7 p.m. GMT", then "GMT" is "the law". And when you have "Western European Summer Time" (WEST) - "British Time" is no official timezone name - then it will be 8 p.m. WEST.
But this reply is nonsense. Forget it. I cannot guarantee that you will see us only after 8 p.m. WEST, we may appear already sooner. "Evening" is not a very exact term.

I don't seem to recall stating a time of 7pm... just that it was 'evening' in a GMT time band - that means it could be anything from 6pm-10pm BST. But if people want to be picky, I am generally online around 8pm.. possibly 6pm, it all depends on how soon I can sort out RL things before hand.
I just look forward to a time of happy RP, and besides, it is a queen's parogative to make an enterance... or be dramatically late - hehe

I'm so exited and there was a lot of work this week ... the most dangerous week in my life, cause I learned dancing. For safety reasons my girlfriend wears chainmail shoes.
There will be a guild called "Royal Event Guard", where you are asked to give your weapons out of your hands. [Just RP. Not really].
Thanks a lot to the officers, who helped organizing and the participating guards in this small part, we where allowed to realize.

Though it was different from what i expected, it was fun.
Mrriyah, the music was Super (though with some vague shoot outs in therms of 'Ball' misuc ;) )
Lolitra, and all the other who helped the even to be held: :flowers: I'm not that sad I have missed a live Metallica TV show for it :P (couldn't watch anyway :P )

Then she smooths her dress a little "thank you all.. I must bid you all good night now, I hope the buzz and enjoyment goes with you on you leave also.."

Salona smiles, thinking it was a great pleasure to serve at such an honorful event.

A huge thank you to Lord Quantus, for supplying the Royal Event Guard, To Lord Harmond (Gag) for all his hard work in promoting and preparing for the event... I did enjoy it everso much. (I was really upset that my computer decided to throw a wobbly fit half way through, and took me calling my husband at work to get it back online..hhehe.. but I eventually got back). I can only apologise that I didn't then have time to mingle and meet as many guests as I would have liked. The music provided by Mrriyah was delightful - I enjoyed listening to it as I danced and mingled all I could.
And finally, thank you to all who came and played their part in such a fun occasion.

*Doria yawns: Thank luck I did not have to go to that ball and I have a good reason to justify it! I never expected I would be needed elsewhere while it was happening because, nothing ever happens on this city!
[ There were no IC reasons for any of my characters to participate, so I wasn't there when it happened, that's all ;)
And speaking on classical stuff, I suggest Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1812_Overture)(Too bad we can't have a building blowing while it is ending >o) )]

I am sure you were the beau of the ball. Quantus might have been some competition, but he was thrown out it seems.
Nice of you to keep my dagger. My people say you should never give sharp presents because it cuts of the friendship. But that does not seem to be truth.
Afterlife is not to bad, but I would like to dance with you people once more. Some of the ladies around here do things like that: dancing with mortals. I am going to ask them how and give it a try. Hope I do not scare you.

Beau of the ball ... not really. On one hand I was quite busy managing it, on the other... I don't look for many at once. One will be enough, if she just matches.
