What is it in PS? I just wonder, because i thought i saw some.

I checked in wikipedia what kind of alloy it is and i got suprised i must say. Near the ones i been expecting Sn and Zn, there was Silicon - Si. I thought it would be cool if we had too look for special kind of sand, which would because of water erosion be brought in different places by the lenght of the river. This could be nice opportunity to include prospecting.

I gues i just like the idea.

Anyway, the discussion may be about bronze in general, without spoilers i gues.

Ding! keyword: "Lost wax method" ;D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronze_sculpture A mistery! Nice effect too. Maybe this will be of some inspiration for believable explanation for methods of making things with use of metal, which are unknown today.

     I don't see anything spoilerific at all on knowing how bronze is done, it is at best an intellectual curiousity, and such type of information shouldn't be the only motivation for people to engage in conversation with NPCs, pulling people this way into NPCs will always make of them simply as the tools they are now for people to know things and do quests, and not people, not different from those who type /die to read in the death realm without any IC reason. I know it's the players fault, but when gameplay supports roleplay instead of difficulting it, things go easier. Hopefully there is no hype and 0.20 will have a much improved NPC system, but until then, restricting such minimal details and curiousities to be known only by NPCs isn't a good idea. The definition of what is a spoiler is just too wide that it becomes restrictive.

I thought he was asking about its composition (spoiler) as opposed to its methodology in creating it (not a spoiler.)

As to "NPCs as tools and not people" settings has been working hard on this as of late. In 019 and beyond, we'll be pushing this even harder.

Yeah, in fact i were just asking for the methodology. I know there is copper for sure, but what besides it? The wiki say about many variations.
I'm not interested how many pieces of ore of each i need to put into the furnance to combine. I'd ask for the percetage: 85% of copper  75% ? But this can from other side lead to a conclussion that we need 9,8 or 7 pieces of copper ore and 1,2 or 3 of the other.

Great to hear about the NPCs too, but what's about the bronze? ;) Noone really care, as its too tiny detail? I Hope not.

Heh I got the last word in that thread.

I wonder what is the difference between composition and methodology when the methodology specifies the composition.

Anyway in that other thread it appears to have erroneous information as to the composition of bronze (at least the alternative ratio). Certainly the npc asked me to acquire a different amount of copper and tin from the ore bodies at the locations the npc indicated than the ratios listed. Perhaps the formula changed.

yeah, I'm a bit suprised after what Jeraphon said i se that info in the topic steuben pointed us to ;]
I wasn't even looking this in the net, because I assumed this should have been talked about and found out by ingame activities xD
I don't know if its good or not. It's helpfull for sure, only its always that case, hehe

As about methodology and composition difference. In PS crafting system is limited, sometimes doesn't really meet the reaqirements of how it is actually happening. So methodology would be very precise and composition kind of approximation by the PS system rules. In the, and as you say bilbous, it should be one and the same i gues.

Maybe this topic will be used for discussion about other bronzes? I always liked informations about diffrent minerals.

if you want to know what bronze is made with, it is generally Copper and Tin, not sure what quantities but thats how it works!
(i think there almost equall so 6:4 is probabaly the best) :)
maybe in game bronze, silver and gold ( the precious metals) could be use in a molten state to decorate Armours and weapons! it makes the ore usefull and makes you look COOL! :thumbup:
