I'm posting here, as many people would blame me for posting it somewhere else: [some stealth mod put the topic from the plaza to here.]
How long will the server be down?
How far are you (the devs) in percent? 50%? 20%?
I'm getting sick of waiting. I sit here having "auto-refresh" installed, refreshing the server stats page every five seconds.
Please give me some update.
It's just because I planned the whole evening to play planeshift, and now the server is down (for good reason, though)

Not for a few hours at best I'd think

Shame on you!
Not for a few hours at best I'd think
Thank you, I'll stop refreshing now. :D
Erm... What does "I'd think" mean? Is that the thought of an dev? Or the feeling in your stomach?
EDIT: spelling fixed :innocent:
-
Well thats ruined my evening, Hopefully I'll be able to play for atleast an hour tonight. ???
-
You speak out of my mind... But, hey, we'll get a shiny, brand new, mighty, whatever PlaneShift. I never played .019 before. I'm waiting super-jittery for the server to come back online...
-
The I'd think is because Talad just left to go somewhere :P So it won't be up until he gets back. In the meantime, we'll be poking it a bit with sticks.
-
Aw, Talad.. Oh well, be sure test to the crafting, would love to get it bugless!
[edit: woops, forgot to put a verb there :P]

This doesn't happen in well organized 100% Open-source development environments where everybody is trusted and there is no central authority :P
It's the price to pay for centralization, but as this is and aways was Talad's project and not the community's project, understandable.

Where is he gone? Why does he do this? I guess he's still sitting in front of his computer, laughing loud about the people waiting for the server to come up.
Just joking...

Hello!
Get a real life and leave the devs alone, so that they can do their work. The game will be ready when it is done. In other words: soon(tm). :P
With kind regards
Kaityra

a downtime for updates can range from hours to weeks... what can i say... wait? ;)

Thank you for your post, sprinkling of sense. I have a real life, indeed. As I previously announced I wanted to play this evening and now I am not able to. Leave the "soon(tm)" to the people that are authorized to say it, which IMO are the devs. And even if I wouldn't have a real life, the devs would still be able to do their work, i guess.
Never mind... :)

I will ignore you. I trust in Xordan and the announce here (http://hydlaa.com/index.php?page=news&cat=6). And I'll cross my fingers.

Typically, a version update takes anywhere from a few hours (very rarely) to a few weeks (very rarely). typically, its a day or so. See you tomorrow.

You did notice that that announcement is 3 months old, did you? :)
-
 what the hell are they doing then? Now it's too late anyway. Hope the server will be back tomorrow...
-
Although that news message is 3 months old, I think it is pretty close to what it would say if the news site was updated today too :)

Please stop posting messages like this. It's useless clutter and will get the thread locked very quickly. If there are news, we will post them. If there aren't, then you asking for them will not make them appear.
