[IC] I'm sorry if this hurts to hear to the staff and developers of the game but I was notified that this game only goes one 1 Server.. on 1 Independent computer.. is this true or not? If it is, I don't want to be rude.. but I dislike it because the server is up and down! [Or so it seems]

/me sighs
I don't want to be rude..
then don't be.
but yes. there is only one server.

wait one week till stuff what needs debuging is fixed... go and plant coffee beams for example

The server is just unstable.. And as far as I know the reason we don't have a second server is because one server would end up packed full and the other would be barren, not enough people, ya know? ;)
Though let the devs tinker with it it'll get stable soon enough, this is not uncommen after a big update, so do not worry it will not always remain like this, infact it should pass in a very short amount of time. That exact time, well its anyone's guess.

Yes, the official "world" is hosted on only one (1) server and this has a well thought reason:
There are only a few developers for this game and each additional task (server maintenance is one) would delay game development.
Nobody want's this :)
If more people would ask: "What can I do to help?", maybe than we would have a better chance ;)

It comes down to 2 things, money and time.
More servers could ( potentially ) mean that we have to start investing hard cash in the project. Right now it's limited to Talad paying for his site and me paying for the forums. We have been very luck so far to find hosts that are not only willing to donate hardware but also the bandwidth and their skills in setting up the server. However, if we want to start working on some sort of server farm that is going to require $$$.
Secondly, I know that most of the developers have regular jobs and many in the software/hightech industries. It's not always easy to work 8-10 hour days staring at computer screen and then come home and do the same when working on PlaneShift. Some of us do it better than others but it's all about doing it when it's fun to do.
We are getting a bit better organized now with a proper testing group that should help fix some of those 'post update' jitters that we usually have.
