can someone tell me how to get the little stat box back, it used to be in the top right hand corner but its gone..

I guess you've mistakenly hit the icon 'Information' in the in-game toolbar. This one is used to switch that information box on and off.

how do i get it back, and were is the information icon to to turn it back on

Move your cursor across the different icons in the icon bar (upper left), until you found the icon called 'information'. Then click on it and voila...  :)

In case that has gone as well the Icon bar is brought up with the esc key (well mine is anyway)
