Title: help with updater

I just been getting teh game and dowloaded the latest edditon from the websight, yet the updateer seems to take forever i ran it for an hour and it still didn buge much...should that happen?

What OS are you using? You could try logging out, back in again and then trying the updater again. If you get any further problems, post here with some more info. OS, etc.

personally i didnt run the updater. i installed, loged in, and im playing ;o

Yes, it is possible to play PS without running the updater, but it is recommended to do so. The updater can include bug fixes, changes to the code right through to graphics and sounds for the game.
