Title: Can't get game to load

I've tried several times to load game. I have gotten as far as character select screen, but the last 3 times I get an "Esception" window before the title screen even comes up.  My computer specs are as follows:

                                     OS - Windows XP HE
                                     Processor - AMD Athlon, MMX, 3Dnow, 1.2 GHz
                                     MEM - 512 MB
                                     VIDEO - NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX Integrated GPU

I have already tried reinstalling and changing vertex settings.  HELP!   :'(

Try updating your graphics drivers from nvidia.com - if that doesn't take care of the access violation, we'll try something else :]

I tried the upate you suggested but the problem continues.  Any other suggestions?  :(

It would help us to know what access violation number you are getting.

In the past, a few that involved Nvidia graphics were solved by turning on Vertex Buffer in PlaneShift's setup.

NVM, unfortunately I had to completely uninstall PS from my system.  I may try to download it again.  I used bit torrent before, maybe I should try a direct download.  What do you think?  ::|

Shouldn't affect anything :) You're downloading the same client, and if it installs without any problems, it shouldn't give you different problems afterwards.

Maybe a clean install will do you good, either way.

k  i'll try a fresh download and see what happens.   :thumbup:   i really would like to try this game out. it sounds good.  :D  laters

Have tried redownloading, unfortunately I am still getting the same "Exception" window.  ???  I can't even get past the login screen.  :o  I guess it just wasn't meant to be.  :'(

You might need to update your graphics drivers.

1. Go to Nvidia's driver download (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp) page
2. Select "Graphics Driver," then "GeForce 4 Series," then "Windows XP," and click the Go button.

Install the driver, reboot your computer, and try running the game.

I got the upadate and now all i get is a black screen.  Even the planeshift setup screen is black.


now what?
