Here's something I've been thinking about.
My enki character happens to have the letter r in her name. Should it in fact be with rr? So far I've seen people using both options.
According to PSWiki there is no r in Enkien, only a purring sound, which can be written as rr. On the other hand we have Brado for example with only one r. Is the r a bad transliteration or is the name written in the way most (non-Enkidukai) people would pronounce it?
I know this is a detail but I'm just someone who happens to love them. Besides I have to develop my background story a little bit if I've misspelled the name. Sorry if this has already been covered somewhere else.

Draklar uses trilling r's, so when he introduces himself, it's "Draklarr". The name remains same though.
In common speech it's "Draklar"
Draklarr is only representation of the dialect. Most people wouldn't repeat it anyway. So in my opinion trilling r's should be kept out of names (with the obvious exceptions of course).

Just take a spanish course and learn to role your R's.Then the next time you see one of them cats with a R in there name or even better, when they speak, youi'll be able to pretend they are a flamboyant Latino gigalo for them toms or Charo if its a gal.
-
Draklar: why don't you trill both r's then? I'm just being curious...
-
Solely for aesthetical reasons. Writing out two trills in one word tends to look strange, while doing so just with one r should be enough to give other players the proper picture.

I'm with Draklar on this one, the purring sound is fine as an accent but it shouldn't influence the written style. All races in Yliakum share a common language.

Hello!
Well, let me try: Kaityrra
Hmmm. Looks a little bit strange but could work.
But why shouldn't an Enkiduaki be able to speak a simple "r"? They know to talk in common language, too.
With kind regards
Kaityra (with only a simple "r")

English is the second most spoken language on Earth.
But does this apply for Standard English? No.
Some will speak standard common; many won't.

Remember that an Enkidukai character may have parents of many other races as well.
