I'm not sure what this area is called as I have only been here once before, but it is the area that contains the Waterwheel. Before you ascend the mountain there is a guard tower at the bottom left. I am having a lot of problems climbing the ladder there. My character will climb a bit by jumping while walking forward, but then sometimes he gets stuck in a walking motion. I can wait forever, but he just stands there attempting to walk. The only way out is to use /unstick.
Has anyone else faced this and is there some trick to not getting stuck?
Thanks in advance!

Hiya! There's definitely an issue with those ladders, and I think there's an entry about it in our BugTracker. Have you tried walking up them sideways for now? I've heard that sometimes ends up being easier.
-
Ok, so if you start running and then stop running that will get your character out of the constant walking mode. Just a quick fix until the powers that be can get this fixed.
-
Nope, I haven't tried climbing sideways. I'll have to do that next time I'm around.
-
I've found that as well as climbing sideways (strafe), it helps if you also use the left-shift with your jump. Every time I go there it takes me a second or two to remember how to get up those ladders.

It depends on the character race.
Taller chars like Ylian, Ynnwn, Kran are able to "jump&run" the ladders.
Smaller races like Dermorian or dwarfs instead may jump through the ladder, instead of upwards.

You got to run up the rails, jumping might help but also might get your stuck

Jump-running with my Ylian character mostly got me stuck. I tried something else that worked though (after reading here or in the bug report):
- stand sideways to the ladder
- strafe towards the ladder
- jump repeatedly.
It got me up without much problems.
