I was kind of wondering why the input to Planeshift is severely limited due to the age restriction about how all members of development, etc. have to be at least 21 years or older. There are very gifted individuals out there, myself not included, and many may wish to help but are unable. it would appear to me that if more people were enabled to work on Planeshift endeavors, then more things would happen in a smaller time frame. Even though I myself am not particularly gifted in programming or artwork, I would enjoy contributing to Planeshift, and I am sure that i am not the only one that has been rejected due to age.

IIRC, it is nothing other than legal issues. You have to sign stuff and therefore be legally able to sign stuff. Programmers have a significantly easier time though since they can just start meddling with the code and submit patches to team members for revision and possibly inclusion, IOW they don't need to actually become members.

legal cya.
the contract required, what is called a "work for hire" contact, to submit work to ps requires a legal signature. which depending on the jusistiction you are in can by 18 or 21 or something inbetween. so to keep things simple 21./me mirrors seytra's post

Interesting question. Since the content is owned by Atomic Blue, did Talad have to sign the contract as well?

Since when was age for devs 21? o.0 I'm 19. As far as I know the age limit is 18, unless you are a child prodigy like I was, then you get your parents to sign the legal stuffs for you. :P

Precisely, if you're really talented and under 18, you can have a legal guardian sign the forms - and then sign them again yourself when you're 18. We're definitely not going to close the doors to skilled people.

I see. Perhaps I would be interested in the near future... Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. By the time anyone gets to your application, you'll be at least 21. no matter how old you are right now:)
To those who have no sense of humor: This is a joke. It's called tongue in cheek.:)
