Hey there :)

The first 3D client for PlaneShift was released some time in 2001 I believe. It was the Atomic Blue release. Since then we've had Molecular Blue (0.2), and are now in the Crystal Blue era (0.3).

There are anywhere from 100-200 players online every day, so you'll definitely run into more people as you keep exploring.

Server instability and wanting to get the most out of late summer will do that.

I'm actually surprised at the number of regularly active people playing this game. No offense, but for free to the public game in such a 'in-progress' stage to have this many members on at any given point was a bit unexpected. This is a pretty good game (described by the Devs as a 'hobby' work) for being only Ver.0.3  yes ZERO point three.

I think its better than most main stream games. It being published in development has ensured that only dedicated players will be active. I've been playing since 2006 and it has grown a lot. Back in '06, I remember seeing about 20 people on in the morning (around 7AM pacific time), and around 50 - 70 around noon through early evening. Now it has grown to where I rarely see anything less than 100 people on at any given time as long as the servers up, morning or night.
