Title: Yliakum Herald
Post by: Cilla on August 27, 2007, 12:11:13 pm
Cila shouts: "You havent read the latest news? Inform yourself and buy a copy of the extremely successful Yliakum Herald newspaper, 6th edition for only 100 Tria.
Keep at it and read the latest news about the impending mass-breakthrough at the Bronze Doors, Poly injured, Rylour recruiting and Raithen organising the defense, a very touching story about the local Hydlaa bum Eurac and much much more!
Once again therell be a  competition in the next edition, claim the price, solve the riddle and find the object of desire!
Congratulations to the winner of the last contest Pirill Poveniy who won the 40 Circles for finding the hidden item!"

Cila waves goodbye and starts to humm a strange foreign melody on his pan flute.

----

Cila proclaims: "You can run your advertisement in the Herald for a litte payment.
You can also contribute a comment, some people want to have a rectification on the latest guild issues between TT and BH, LoH and Tp for example, two new comments about this issue have been handed in today.
If you have significant news or prepared an article to publish, just let us know!
Please contact Giraut, the printer and publisher or me."

Gag Harmond wonders what kind of paper people threw behind the furnaces, and starts reading them curiously...

His eyes moisten, remembering the good old days when he was once reporter for the Plaza Times.

Newspapers come, newspapers go...

Cilas eyes narrow thinking about people beeing jealous. He wonders who possibly could have trashed a Herald since the feedback was always positive, the fact that most Heralds are recycled makes him doubt that that tattered piece of paper Gag is holding is a Herald.

[:S Thanks for the feedback, helps to establish the Herald! Of course you read it I guess. ... why are people spending time on inventing new rp animations...]

----

Cila bounces: "Woow, it is the 6th edition but what a success!!! Who would have guessed that the Herald would become a common stadart for Yliakum citizens in such a short time. Collectors are already paying dozens of circles for the first editions!"

Keep at it and read the latest news about the impending mass-breakthrough at the Bronze Doors,

Which one? There are seven. If you're the Yliakum Herald, stop being so Hydlaa-centric. ;)

Cila sighs: "Since we sell it in Hydlaa it is, ofcourse a bit Hydlaa centric.
Have you read the 6th edition, we try to do the best to inform you about other Yliakum news. What do you mean with there are seven? Seven impending breakthroughs.
Since you know so much about the ongoings at the Bronze Doors, would you be interested to write an article about it for the Herald?
Your infos would be greatly appreciated, the payment is well."

(There are seven Bronze Doors. The one closest to Hydlaa is called the "Eagle Bronze Doors.")

[It would be really nice if old editions of this were placed in the library. There is plenty of space in there and some of the stuff is really well written. It would also serve as a good tool for getting newcomers into RP, they would be able to familiarise themselves with the recent happenings. It would also serve as a record of the modern history of Yliakum.]

A newspaper? how interesting. It seems that players are developing more than the actual developers are  :P. I have never heard of you guys before, where can I pick up a copy? On another note, I can guarantee  that within the next few years Planeshift will be run more like a real life city, with a government, jobs, etc. Nice job. By the way, how are you mass producing these?

Please -- keep reminding me in game over the weekend to return my sample to you. I don't want to keep it from being read; simply I can not play during the week, due to technical issues.

I am not opposed to back editions being placed in the library, convince talad and settings will review them for placement.

Editorial finality would be our prerogative though . . .

Editorial finality would be our prerogative though . . .

I wouldn be either if I would get a few Tria when someone reads them...
The fact that collectors are paying good prices for old editions is what keeps me halfway up, I gotta make a living too.
At the moment I would earn far more money by mining... who else wants to be listed as sponsor? ;)

--------------------

I cant believe the so called Guv Goldspear.
He just published his second edition of the Yellow Journal.

In the first edition the Headline was: "Scandal Rocks the Yliakum Herald"
He blow up an whole article about dubios schemings we made with our sponsors.
He wrote about a faked contest, but in truth the contest winner sponsored his prize because he like most others greatly appreciates our work.
Guv called everyone "to boycott the Yliakum Herald" withouth knowing the facts.

He was shouting insulting things and badmouthed the Herald at the Hydlaa Plaaza in the night...

He took 200 Tria for the first edition which almost contained nothing except this artcile about the Herald.

It seems that he copies us, he now makes a weekly edition which costs 250 Tria and contains very little information, most is made up.

We clarified the situation about the contest winner and sponsoring. We will stay neutral and wont publish anything about / against Guv.

I expect a public apology in his next edition, that is all I want, I dont mind business competition. [I hope he talked to the devs before he printed his books..]
Many of our readers will hunt him down otherwise, a bunch of people said they'd like to declare war against the Yellow Journal(only him?).

Cila cant believe that a newspaper is such intellectually undemanding...

[€2:]
By the way, we always ask before we publish any information about someone to avoid troubles,to stay neutral and to print facts.

Keep up the good work
Im sure that the ppl of Yliakum are sane enough, they wont be lured by badmouthing. And as far as liking the YH goes, i'd like to be a sponsor  ;)

I think this is a really neat thing, I have only be able to read a few but the stories were very neat and creative, I think the YH has and will continue to spark a lot of roleplay in the game, Keep it up!

[Thank you Karyuu!]

Cila is currently selling copies of the seventh edition at Hydlaa Plaaza.

"Thanks for the last donation.
If you want to contribute something or to run an ad, write it down and hand it in.
There is still no contest winner."

It's a neat idea Cila, keep it up as it is a great way for people who have been away for a little while to catch up on current events.

/me smiles as she reads the paper and finds her guild mentioned causing trouble at the gold mines, she quickly looks around herself to make sure no one has spotted her before running off again.

[I love the idea of an ingame paper you guys are doing great, its fun to read, also had fun with the interveiw ;)]

Cila says: "Indeed."

-----

Cila clears his throat and shouts: "The contest ended, there are two winners who found the item which was hidden in the DeathRealm behind the Citadell, accessed over the skeleton.
The winners are Atir and Pirill! After 4 days someone finally found it, I already feared that noone will find it."
Cila smiles: "They are both sponsors of the Herald, I hope that wont lead to any madeup stories about faked contest.
Besides, many people seem to think that sponsors are donating periodically, that would be great but all the listed sponsors only once sponsored a sum to help the Herald Media Group."
Cila waves goodbye and strides away waving with a newspaper.
