Title: ForSaken
Post by: DevotedEternal on March 14, 2003, 10:42:05 pm
Some of my guild members were wondering how the Planeshift world viewed The ForSaken Ones as a guild. Any thoughts?

Hmm... it seems that it might be succesfull! has a good website, has a lot of Rubies, Emeralds, and Crystals, pretty good membership, and seems to be very active! All good qualities :D ! On the other hand... It seems to be like a lot of the other guilds, you need to be more creative in your ideas of what your guild plans on doing. There should be a main goal, whether it be to serve the Planeshift world by helping them in a good many ways or one large area of importance, or to rule it by taking over other clans causing havoc and destruction and just giving the good clans something to fight for! But of course you can do whatever you want. There are many guild like yours in other games that get along just fine. Well, theres my view of your guild.

EDIT: Oh, and btw, you really need to get your sig pic working! It\'s a bad influence on your guild...  :]

EDIT AGAIN: Nevermind its working now  :] !

I dissagree with your ways of getting members, as it pisses a lot of people of. Mindless invites will get you a lot of enemies, since there are a lot of people who would prefer to be left alone, and not deal with any guild.
Otherwise, yeah, a young and eager guild.

P.S. Kiern, talk to ShockFire, he is starting something, he will fill you in with the rest.

Exactly! Give people something new and (as long as it\'s a good idea) you will get plenty of members in no time!  I mean, Kinoss just started his and already a lot of people are showing interest in it, even if they do not join it.

Hopefully more people will realize that in the future and PS will be a lot more fun because of it.

(kk Alucard, I\'ll talk to him once he comes back on MSN)

note, the hitman clan was the first successful rogue planeshift clan(or guild however you want it).

ALL OTHERS ARE JUST IMITATORS.

we were the best and the clan name still holds greatness....recognize this guild is ancient but a classic in its own right.

and this clan will be back next year; So all you fake guilds better watch out

/me gives some vallium to cmhitman

alright... back on topic...
I just can\'t understand why people or making clans/guilds for games that doesn\'t exist... I mean, PlaneShift isn\'t really a game at this moment...
I have made the same fault for a little game called Neverwinter Nights...
Title:
Post by: DevotedEternal on March 15, 2003, 06:35:19 pm
thats why im taking this time to create the guild, because, at the moment, this game-to-be shows great promise..... so we will be fully prepared for the game when it exists.

LOL, you can\'t compare NWN with PlaneShift....
NWN is a commercial product and depends on the enterprise, that distributes it. (Well its nice it\'ll be ported sooner or later to linux), but you don\'t really have a clou how and whent that will be.
PS is already avail and running in an pre alpha state, and even If it takes a year until the final release of PS the commuity is completely different and if such a promising game in such an early stat is already that highly frequented, it must be successful....(in my opinion)

Yep, and what I wanted to say was that the community is different. For NWN you have hundreds of people waiting day and night for several months for a first releas or even a new screenshot...
In the case of PS the community sees the game growing improving and can grow with it, (or even participate)...

Thats Open Source --- That\'s what makes the difference

After doing strenuous research on the FSO guild I found something so incredible that the entire FSO guild should immediatly disbanded and removed! Here is a pic (from which took me hours to get off a very secure network) that shows how mean and terrible FSO\'s guild leader, Devoted, really is! The following image may contain violent information! If you cant handle extreme violence cease to scroll down any further!

pic of Devoted hitting Leet, a FSO guild member, in the neck! That has to hurt! Especially since Devoted is made of rock! I would take it to court leet!

In my eyes you started the guild thing for your own profit. Aftersome wierd start it seems your doing pretty good as guild in the game, gratz...

But what your actual goal is isn\'t clear to me. i know the FSO is obsessed in getting crystals and gainning loads of members, but if that makes a guild good...time will tell.

Also the merging you guys announced i disaprove, do all your members want to merge? they choose for fso and not for mundus.. You get a big (ingame)powerfull guild. But by removing your biggest threat ingame you will also remove the good competition...

As to me, Fso is just a \"want to be guild\" full of stupid newbies who don t even know why they are a part of that \"guild\".

Any other questions, Devoted?

we are not obsessed with crystals nor are we obsessed with getting alot of members. Our system is:

1. Anyone wishing to enter FSO may do so, as an Apprentice.

2. After 7 days as an Apprentice, the guild council makes a decision.

3. If the decision is to keep the new recruit then they are promoted to a low ranking class of the section they choose. If the council decides to reject the new recruit, they are immediately ejected from the guild, making room for new Apprentices.

and as for the crystals, yes that does hold some importance... it is, after all, the ONLY bit of gameply. Of course we would like to take part in it. And in the merge, we hope not only for the crystals.... it will supply Mundus with much needed structure, and gices us the reliable, active, member base we need.

Seems to me that FO is being given rather a rough time. Sure they are new, but you can clearly see from their site that a lot of effort has gone into the FO, we\'d be lucky if the same could be said of all new guilds. Members of this guild are amongst some of the most active in MB and this merger does benefit Mundus in terms of providing structure, a website and home for it\'s members - something which it lacked. The merger may come with the benefit of creating a huge crystal resource, but who can fault them for that?

I guess in the end, time will tell. Too many guilds have been formed only to rapidly fade into nothing with the passage of time. I wish them luck.

Thanks Kada, it was  getting a little rough.... *removes armored suit* I guess people are just getting the wrong idea, understandably so, however. I hope that our not-so-good public light soon shifts, but as of now I\'ll just continue doing whats best for the guild.

The ones that fail are the ones that come here and within a day or two of their signing up, they start a guild and haven\'t even read the planeshift history.

This is true.... however, it has been more than a day or two, more like a year before I started a guild. And I most deffinetly did ready the history. But thats all for now, I don\'t have any more desire to argue with you.

Unless the forums are off, you have been here for less then a month. Do you have some stupid newbie excuse like \"I lost my password for my old name?\" If you do, what was your old name?

hmm let\'s see here, what do I think of TFO. First time i saw it i just saw you as another new guild, now I see you as a new guild with potential.
You certainly show that you are willing to go through with this. Allthough i cannot say if i think that you\'ll be able to hold this up till the game is released. It\'s still a long road to get there so we\'ll just have to wait and see.

But your guild looks really promising.
