Is there a number limit that the NPC have on their training abilities?
Ok here is my dilemma, I know that the guards on the top level of Hydlaa by the gate train in strength and stamina, I have used them a few times and have seen my wife use them too. So I was confused when they would not train my Kran character in either of these stats. Then when my wife could not train her Kran PC here either I figured it must be because of their race? I would like to improve these stats for my character, is there a special place or way to do strength and stamina training for Kran?
I hope this hasn’t bee posted already, I have searched the forum for answers but fail to see anything on this.

your kran toons are probably either too high or too low to be trained by those particular npc's at this time.

There is indeed a limit for trainers, but it's not race specific. Each npc won't go above a certain level of training, so now you have to find another one, who continues. This goes for all stats, aswell as skills. Any trainer only trains until a certain level.

Is there some kind of check of the skill level a player has to enable teaching by a NPC?
Yes.
Ask the NPCs what they train. They'll let you know (but in a non-numerical way) so if an NPC doesn't appear to train anything, asking them should give you a clue as to whether you're underqualified or overqualified for their training.
