Title: Planeshift File Size?
Post by: Kiern on January 27, 2002, 10:43:53 pm: hey, can someone give me an estimate on how big the file size for planeshift is going to be? i only have a 56k so im wondering if im gonna have to download overnight or something

I would be more than glad to burn the software on CD\'s and send them out for only the price that it costs me... $0.15 for CD, $0.20 for case, ? for postage... I would be more than happy. The more people that can get the software means more people can play...

they are so-so graphics and like 200megs..

personally i dont mind downloading a big file, but i sorta liked the old looking, lousey graphics *runescape style* game..

i know that when u go to sites like microsoft to download game demos , they take like maybe 50megs less than the original game, and all the diffrence is that they dont include some features..

but i guess the first PS demo will not only wont include some features, but also wont have all the graphics and stuff... its just a first demo :D

but i dont care it would still rock !

When is the demo scheduled for?

Will this demo last until the next demo?

Will everyone be able to play, or is there a numerical cap or something?

If we make actually inteligent input based on our experience with the demo, is there a chance it will be implemented?

if im mistaken, then how is possible that not all creatures will be a part of the first demo, and the exp stays?

if i want to be kran, and kran isnt in the first demo, then why should i even train? (not that i want to be kran, i dont know yet)

I.E : a kran cant do the X Skill, so... if u start on the demo as 1 char that can do the X skill, and continue on the 2nd demo as a Kran, how could the X skill be put into the 2nd demo?

(do i make any sence) ?

and have your connection re-connect every time it disconects, automatecly.. and download this utility to keep you connected no matter what, its pretty useful =/

there is no need to devide 10-30 megs into small piece .. maybe the final game will be devided, but demos... come-on =|

i downloaded 300megs on my 28.8k modem , so get real

but i also have a problem with disconnects i use WinGate and my other computer (the one with the connection) discconects ever hour or so.....so im screwed :D

Post by: CRSdefiance on April 10, 2002, 05:14:14 am: Just a suggestion, but any 56k users may want to download an agent such as Go!Zilla ( http://www.gozilla.com I believe) for downloading. You can set it to reconnect automatically, and it saves downloads, so you can get them in parts. I have used this to get files well over 200 mb, so it may just be what you need.
