Title: Additional weapon attributes
Post by: Xanthan on September 05, 2007, 05:10:32 am
So, I found some weapons that seemed pretty neat:
    Icy Longsword 1.5/3.96
    Ruby-encrusted Polished Claymore 1.5/3.84

But they both do lousy damage in fact: between 2-8HP per hit, and they don't hit a lot.  What's up?  Has anyone figured this out yet for the actual weapons in planeshift?  I'd be willing to finally join a guild if they had accumulated lore on this.  It's one thing I've never really figured out, nor do I see how you really can unless we get a spell to identify weapon attributes. Perhaps like the one Grok Idon uses?

I'm just guessing, but could it have to do with your skill?

There's a similar issue in the new bugreport concerning another weapon wil great stats and name but lousy end results

It's not my skill.  Other weapons with similar attributes do about 250-300 damage per hit.

*edit*

UPDATE: I realize that the 2-8 HP was actually damage caused by hitting with my empty hand and the swords did not hit at all (I was testing them separately.)  So basically these weapons must have a huge "to hit" penalty.  What's the point?  Finally after a year or so I find a longsword with better than normal stats, but BZZZT :-)  Oh well.  I'll follow the bug you mentioned and see if these are keepers or junk.  (I.e. is it really a bug, or is it intentional.)

As far as I know, all weapons with speed 1.5 (except daggers) are bugged. However, might be worth keeping them to test at a later point. :)
