When i start a game it wont go fullscreen instead it gives me the error message in the dos window:
no CEL enviroment variable set!
Using alternative 3d driver: crystalspace.graphics3d.opengl
Then it continues to go to the game in windowed mod,
When i try to go to setup it sayes can\'t create direct draw device, I have the latest dirctX and I have a newer comp with a new graphic card
-
like what card and what computer and what OS?
99% of the time this is a driver problem. Go to your gfx card manufacturer\'s website and get the latest drivers. Then after it fixes your problem, thank your lucky stars that Venge helped you out. ;-)

With software mode you will need a fast processor and you will not have the need of a 3D card, but it will run slower. A PIII 600Mhz with 128Mb of RAM can run the game with acceptable performance.
With OpenGL mode, it is the graphics card which makes the difference and you will see the game at its full potential. A PIII 600Mhz with 256Mb of RAM and a geforce 2 card will give you good performance.
Those are the system requirements for PlaneShift from the FAQ section right before you enter the message boards. Thought it might help anyone with this problem. :)

hrm, I\'ve got the same problem too, I just noticed it.
I tried to download the drivers for my graphics card (GeForce DDR), but it didn\'t seem to work.
What effects would this have on running the game?

For me, when I open PS client, it pops up the DOS-looking window and it says \"no CEL enviroment variable set\", but then it continues anyway and works fine.
-
I also have a p3 600mhz with the same message, but in both computer i can play. So i don\'t know what it mean
-
the message about CEL is in fact an error that happens only for Linux users... It\'s strange to see it in the Windows release. Anyway, you can ignore it since Windows version does not need it.
